Young Hollywood

Hey guys, Niki Novak here for Young Hollywood at San Diego Comic-Con in the Nickelodeon suite with the Grimster. How do you do? You guys could be like a band at this point.

Guest

We are a band.

Guest

We can be a band with like a horn section.

Guest

We're so bad.

Young Hollywood

Are you the horn section?

Guest

I'll be the horn section.

David

David will be the horn section.

Guest

You come with your rhythm section over here.

Guest

We're in Nick of Cause.

Young Hollywood

Oh, I know you can sing. I know you can sing. The last time I think I I think last year we were here, but we didn't see you. And the last time you're in the Young Hollywood studio, he, I don't know if you guys know this, but he recited the entire Courage, you know, speech from Wizard of Oz. You're like, yeah, we heard it all before. We know. What's your latest?

David

Hamilton. Yeah. It's like a hip-hop rap version of the story of Alexander Hamilton.

Young Hollywood

I just want to make sure we can hear you. Can we hear him?

David

Yeah, you can. You can hear me. Of course you can hear me. Of course I went to theater school, dammit.

Young Hollywood

Anyway, in the spirit of uh courage, I wanted to ask you guys what's the most courageous thing you've had to do on the set of Grimm?

Guest

Oh, well, there was a zombie apocalypse, I don't know if you remember that, but uh we were on the containers and I and Roberto Barba, one of our show runners, main directors, he's like, yeah, Bri, you're going to have to just, you know, want it to look really real, so I want you to climb up, you know, the seven-foot high container and then get on a ladder and then jump over maybe three and a half feet, but we can't have wires because we want it to be really real. And he's like, you can do that, right? Yeah, yeah, I can I can totally do that. And you get up there. I got up there and the second this this my stunt girl let go of my hand, I'm like, oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. And then actually, like, barely made it into the show. I'm like, I risked my life for a major moment.

Young Hollywood

Anybody else? Anybody else?

Guest

I had to hang off I had to hang off like a an apartment building, the fire escape of like a, I don't know, a five-story apartment building.

Young Hollywood

Oh, yeah.

Guest

Yeah, but it was fun though, it felt like it felt like zip lining.

Young Hollywood

Oh, nice.

Guest

I was like to hang on a wire.

Young Hollywood

So you enjoyed it. Yeah. You know, the word everybody's using is vengeance for the next season. How do you guys think it's going to be a fresh take on the show this next season? Vengeance.

David

Well, so my mom, I okay, in the first thank you. Uh, the first scene of season five, like my mother's head has been taken away, my dead girlfriend's been swept away. So just a light day, you know. And my only like kind of like sister protege's kidnapped. So it's bad bad place bad start, you know. Um, so

Guest

Yeah, you got your health.

David

I got my health. So yeah, yeah, I got it. It's good. Things are good. Things are light. It's a dark place.

Guest

Yep, everybody's saying the show is going to be completely different. Like from this point on, it's not going to be the same.

David

It is it is getting it is getting, yeah, we were talking about reboot as like a good description of what's happening, but we are kind of harking back to like season one and and and stories about the keys and the coins and and a lot of the darkness that we saw in season one is coming back. Even stylistically, we're it's going to get a a darker sort of tint to the whole thing.

Young Hollywood

I saw David on your on Twitter. You were talking about like I think like consumerism and how like people try to sell you things.

David

Oh my gosh, did I get political?

Young Hollywood

No, you just said that you know, of all the things people try to sell you, the earplug is the most provides the most contentment for you. How so? And what for the rest of you provides an enormous amount of contentment as as you're a place to go?

David

Earplugs is provided. I said everything promises contentment, the earplug has delivered on that promise. Um, well, honestly, that came from because we shoot a lot of nights and like circadian rhythms are just gone, kind of thrown to the wind and and uh I earplugs have saved me. Like, do that, put on a Yeah, eye mask, I can sleep. And you know what make you know what make the best earplugs? Bunchies.

Guest

No.

David

Well, you said it.

Guest

What?

David

Never mind.

Guest

No, I think uh we were just saying that walking over here like we uh we feel good, you know, and we just are lucky. We're lucky and we're happy and we live in a great city and get to do what we love. And as old as we are to still be on Young Hollywood.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. And we're sitting in this. Thank you Young Hollywood. Scale of one to ten, I'm going to go down the line how big a nerd are you since we are at Comic-Con? Oh boy. I

David

How big a nerd are you?

Guest

I'm going to be honest and I'm going to say about a six.

Young Hollywood

About a six, okay.

Guest

Okay. Not too much.

David

I'm pretty nerdy. I mean, I have a copy of Moby Dick in my backpack, so I'm pretty nerdy. Yeah, nerdy but probably not in the Comic-Con way, but yes, I'm I can't find my way through society. Okay. You know.

Guest

That's why you're here.

Guest

He's just a misfit. He's not nerdy, he's just a misfit.

Guest

I'm about a three.

Guest

You're just cool.

Guest

Yeah. Cool.

Guest

I'm not nerdy. Not at all.

David

No, I don't. Zero. You're a schmuck. Come on. When I was 16, I played Dungeons and Dragons, so it kind of like it averages out.

Young Hollywood

Of of the cast, who would be best at stand-up?

Guest

Wait, say what?

Young Hollywood

Of the cast, who would be best at doing stand-up?

Guest

I think G.

David

Yeah, it's David.

Guest

I would say it's you.

David

Again, if you like your herring.

Young Hollywood

Oh my gosh. That's your isn't that your stand-up comic name? Pickled herring.

David

Exactly. Tonight, pickled herring.

Guest

Maine learn.

Young Hollywood

Oh, who would be the best rapper? Oh, come on. You're so good at It's really that was really my way of getting you I don't know it's one of those things you just like I just want to kind of vibe. You know, you got to drop it, man.

David

Well, no, I just talk about me being the swashbuckling hero, the man, the myth, the legend, the one that put the hump in the camel's back. I'm the lamp cracker, the ass smacker. The baby maker, the cradle shaker. Good God almighty. Ain't you glad I'm on your team? Okay. All right, I got to go. Drop the mic.

Guest

Where's he going?

Guest

He's gone.

Guest

He got to commit.

Guest

He got to commit.

Guest

He really committed.

Guest

The gorgeous.

Guest

He's got a complete table outside. He's been asleep in. He's been asleep in for ten years.

Young Hollywood

Was it something I said? Um okay. I am question answered. Okay. Um, who had of you had the best summer vacation? Oh boy.

Guest

Best, come on, you went.

David

I went some places.

Guest

You went places.

Young Hollywood

Where did you go?

David

Young Hollywood

In that order?

David

In that order.

Young Hollywood

Wow. You start out in Amsterdam. It's got.

Guest

David

David

Claire had a baby. I think she just cho you.

Guest

Claire had a baby. I think she just cho you. She just cho you.

David

Claire had a baby. Yeah, you might have had the best summer vacation. She created life.

Guest

Yes. Yes.

Young Hollywood

Who is most likely to accidentally spoil a plot line?

Guest

Probably me.

David

No, actually not me. No, it wouldn't be me because I'm actually, I'm really afraid of ruining the experience for people, like I don't watch previews.

Guest

We're we're pretty good. We're pretty tight-lipped.

Claire

Cuz we don't really know.

Guest

Good point, Claire.

Claire

We don't really know. It's just because they don't tell us.

Guest

Can't ruin it.

Claire

They really don't. They really don't. They really don't.

Guest

You're in your house.

David

Well, no, I had to drop the mic and then you know.

Guest

No, it was it was. If you drop the mic, you got to go. But you missed us, right? So you came back.

Guest

I like how you sold that.

David

Oh, I loved it. I said he's an passables by now, man.

Young Hollywood

Okay, and last but not least, um I know you signed somebody's thigh once here at Comic-Con.

David

I may have. In their thigh.

Young Hollywood

Guest

So I was in Chicago and this woman stopped me. She's like, oh my god, you're on my favorite show. Griff.
