So you guys will shooting inside a fake New York?

Yeah, we're shooting inside of a fake old movie theater in a fake school. Perfect. Looking out on fake downtown Berkeley. So I mean it's just layers and layers, you know, that's how it works.

Yes. Talk to me about what you're shooting up there.

All right, what we're shooting up there is a few scenes introducing uh the love interest for my character for this season.

Oh.

Yeah. Um, which is the first time anything's ever happened for my character in that arena.

Wow. How's it going for old Max?

For old Max? It's going, it's going all right. It's going a little ridiculous. I can tell you that he is in the her because she is a very intelligent person Okay. who agrees with him on a lot of points.

Nice.

And that's his main criteria. Someone who will listen to what he says and agree with him.

So is it obvious that he likes her or does he like cool?

No. He's not really able to express that anyways. Like if he could, it wouldn't be like, hey, you're cute. It'd be like, I am I like you in a romantic way.

Yeah. I mean, that's how I always do it. I just approach someone and I I just look them directly in the eye. I like you in a romantic way. Dear baby. So, how's Ryan doing with all this?

Oh, I haven't. I haven't talked to him yet. I know I know that I'm have to and I'm I will.

What should we be excited to see in season six?

Right now we're shooting episode four, and I know that, you know, we're just working in the school and doing things with the kids here and um, dealing with Max again, getting bullied. And um, it's been, it's I this has been a fun year. So far.

Mhm. So what else is going on with your character in season six? The final season?

In season six, Max is attending the school that has been created by his parents for him and kids like him who don't really fit anywhere else. Okay. Um, but at first he wasn't too into that. He wanted to homeschool rather than go to school again because last season he had some pretty nasty experiences in school.

Right. Kids bullied him, peed in his canteen. They're going to be a canteen.

Yeah, okay.

This is the wonderful New York Street. Broadway, right?

Yeah.

Okay. Are we on Broadway?

Yes, we are. And then we have the fake Barnes & Noble that's called Books & Such.

Uh, I think craft the crafty trucks this way. This way.

Okay. How does uh opening the school together with your husband affect your relationship? Because I feel like it's kind of like opening any business

Yeah.

together. There's some friction for sure. And I think that um, it it it transfers over to the home, you know, as as it always does in the show. But um, it's a difficult, you know, line to to walk.

So, what do you hope to see happen for your character this season?

I hope to see him get a girlfriend, not just like a girl, and uh, you know, have interests outside of lizards, photos and bugs.

What are your interests in real life?

I like to play video games. I I am I am indeed a gamer. And then uh something not a lot of people know about me. I ride horses. That's something that I really like to do.

Oh, nice.

That's that's a burning passion of mine. To quote Ron Burgundy.

So, what do you hope to sort of see happen for your character before the end of the season?

I don't know. I think I'm hoping this season she'll take a little bit of a break and sort of, I I think she's been through a lot and um, I just hope for the end of the season for her and Adam to be holding hands and, you know, life goes on.

Do you think they'll end it that way?

I do. I think for them they will. I don't think there'll be any high drama with the two of them.

Mhm. So, I know this is the final season of Parenthood. It is. How are you feeling about that?

Mixed feelings, you know, because I'm I'm glad because I know that Jason is going to end it on uh on a good note. I know that he's going to end it perfectly, you know, there's not going to be any any loose ends or you know, wonderings about where they're going to be. Um, but I'm also, you know, I'm sad to see everyone go. I know that, you know, some people I'm never going to work with again. Some people I know I'm going to work with again. That'll be fun, but you know, It's it's always sad.

How are you feeling about this being like the final season? Are you kind of like ready for it?

It's bitter sweet. I'm definitely excited to move on to different things. But um, I I this is our family, you know, we've been family for six years. I've watched the kids grow up. It'll be a sad day when we're when we're wrapped.

Okay. So just I mean it's just everything that you could ever want. Except for, you know, a lot of things. There's frozen treats, a lot of fun ice cream stuff and then just candy everywhere. Okay. And then there you. What's your favorite candy?

Sour Patch Kids. Yes. Like Bananas for days.

Bananas for days. I don't know why they need so many bananas. I've never seen anyone eat a banana on the show. So, where does the movie play? Like up on here?

Yeah, the movie just plays here and usually they have it on way louder than it is right now so that you can barely hear yourself talk. That hurts themselves.

You guys have slushies?

Yeah, we have slushies, popcorn machine, and protein powder that I've never seen before. Add it to a slushy.

Oh yeah, and a PS4.

You've been on the show since it started. Yeah. It's like four or five years, right? Yeah. What are some of your favorite memories? I'm sure you have a lot of memories.

It's nothing specific, you know. It's like, I mean, it's like a family. You know, it's it's you don't I mean, obviously, you have specific memories of happy times with your family, but other times it's just, you know, it's just the sense of, you know, relaxation and peace and being comfortable with yourself and with everyone there.

What are some of your favorite memories on the set of Parenthood?

Oh, gosh. Probably the Halloween episode, which I think it was season one. where Craig T. Nelson made me laugh so hard that I I wet my pants a little bit, not fully.

Do you have any embarrassing moments from being on set?

I mean, like this isn't even anything, but I remember for a while a big thing was to take, you know, one of those wooden clothes pins and pin it on someone's back like at the back of their shirt or, you know, their belt or something and just see how long it took them to notice. But that's that's really not anything, you know, it doesn't cause damage.

How was working with uh Peter Krause as the director?

I love it. It's weird because we'll be in a scene together and he'll yell cut. I'm like, why are you yelling cut?

Yeah, I saw he was directing himself.

Yeah, he was directing himself, which is sort of strange. Um, and I know Peter Krauss is directing this episode.

What's it like having him move from Peter Krauss, the actor,

Right.

to Peter Krauss, the actor and director?

Well, I mean, he's done it before in in a few episodes in the past and it's really interesting because it's funny to watch him direct the scene while he's also in it. It must be really difficult to be keeping aware of your own character and everyone else's character mid scene so that you can have an accurate sense of what's going on. But I mean,

Do you ever want to direct an episode?

I mean, I want to, but considering I'm I'm still a minor, I think it would they'd have a problem with me doing it.

He could be like the youngest director ever.
