Ready? It's very easy if you focus. And it's good with some 80s music.

Young Hollywood

Hey everyone, Nikki Novak here for Young Hollywood in the Pacific Palisades. We are on the set of Squatters. So we are here with Gabriella Wilde, Thomas Decker, Luke Rimes. How are you doing?

Thomas Decker

I'm very good. Thank you.

Young Hollywood

Do you play a squatter? You're a squatter with Thomas.

Thomas Decker

I am, yeah. Yeah, I'm a homeless kid from Venice. Um and yeah, and then we start squatting sort of here, which is quite a nice place to be rented. So, I'm definitely a homeless squatter and that's been fun. For the first half of the movie, I have this wig and filth and I've left set a bunch of times without taking my makeup off and I I'm covered in fake dirt and people look at me a little funny.

Young Hollywood

And you go to Ralphs and people just, you know,

Young Hollywood

Has anybody given you change?

Thomas Decker

Nobody's given me change, but what has been interesting is um when we were shooting in Venice, where everyone kind of looked like us, I had this long conversation with these two guys and they totally, they asked me like, what are they shooting over there, man? I was like, I don't know, buddy. And I just kept up with it. And they completely thought I was uh one of the gang, like a new a new member. And then when we were filming here in a fancy neighborhood, I went to go to the bathroom in a restaurant. And the waiter looked at me and was like, hey, you get out, you get out. And I was like, no, I'm with the movie. It's okay. So at least it looks convincing. People have been cool.

Young Hollywood

If you were to squat in anybody's house, anywhere, who would it be?

Thomas Decker

Anyway, I wouldn't mind being here to be honest. Like coming from England, the weather and stuff. This house is kind of I wouldn't mind choosing this house.

Young Hollywood

Maybe when you wrap, you could just

Thomas Decker

Maybe I just move in. I'll check whether they're going to be here.

Young Hollywood

How about the White House? That would be fun.

Thomas Decker

Oh.

Young Hollywood

Then you could be you could get like impromptu information, like stuff that was about to happen.

Thomas Decker

Yeah. Or Amy Pohler's house. She's my hero. I'd like to just have her crack me up. Maybe good just to laugh all the time. Yeah. Maybe the White House. I said that before. Yeah, probably. I just like read all of Obama's like diary entries and like, you know, play with their dog and like prank them, you know. Oh, what would you do? Just like switch paintings at different places and just things that'd be like, you know, they can be like, what?

Young Hollywood

Favorite hobby while you're in on set in your trailer. Are you hitting Angry Birds? What are you doing?

Thomas Decker

You called it. Angry Birds. I'm addicted. Yes. For real. I never wanted an iPad cuz I thought they were stupid. And then somebody gave me one for a wrap gift. And I I can't stop playing freaking Angry Birds. I've been hanging out with Thomas a lot. We tend to just mess around a lot. So I've been having a lot of fun with him. Um, it's probably just talking kind of just chatting with the other actors.

Young Hollywood

Does he been playing Angry Birds and like all that? Has he?

Thomas Decker

Yeah. No, I'm not into Angry Birds. Everyone loves it. Maybe Tetris is not my thing.

Young Hollywood

What is your vice at craft services? What do you hit the most?

Thomas Decker

Uh, red vines. I get a lot of red vines. A lot of coffee and uh, they have these little oatmeal raisin cookies. They're just awesome. They're so good. We all have to be careful of craft service because you'll just eat and eat and eat and eat. I've been eating a lot of Cheetos on the set, which is not good for you. I've heard. So it's a good craft. This is a good one. All crafty is a good crafty. Whenever there's just free food sitting around all day, that's a good thing.

Young Hollywood

Richard Dryfist detests rock music and he hates the electronic guitar. This is a true fact. Given that you are a musician, if you wanted to win him over, what song would you play him? With the with an electric guitar song?

Thomas Decker

Yes. Oh boy. Well, I'd start him with some like old school country and sort of ease him. I'd do like Town Van Zant, Blaze Fole and like kind of like get a little heavier as I went. I could turn him into a rock fan. I just put him sitting down with my iPad and make him listen to it. What's on your iPad? A lot. Um, I love rock music. I love all kind of guitar-based music, so I think we'd differ on that. Um, I love sort of, I don't know, maybe I'd play him some like Richard Foley or something. I actually, because I don't believe I could actually win him over with a real song, so I'd play him like the Scorpions or something, like some 80s hair metal band and watch him hate him. Hate like hate them more and more.

Young Hollywood

You just played it long enough, you would break him down and he would just all of a sudden start banging his head. Richard rocking around to like Twisted Sister or something.

Thomas Decker

I actually could. It would be really enjoyable.

Young Hollywood

And on our way out, thanks for chatting with us. How many squats have you done since you've been on the set of squatters? Physical squat?

Thomas Decker

Physical squat. I just did like 20 right now before I did this interview. You want with me now?

Young Hollywood

Yeah, to offset all those Cheetos.

Thomas Decker

Here, I'm going to teach you how to be a squatter. Okay. Ready? Yeah. You got to do the arms like a like a Pat Benetar video. Ready? It's very easy if you focus. And it's good with some 80s music. Play.

Young Hollywood

Thank you, Thomas. Thank you.
