What's up, guys? Jackie Karsch here. We're at the Retro Fit Gym in West Hollywood, where one of the trainers of NBC's "Biggest Loser", Jen Widerstrom, is about to show us some killer workout moves. And remember, sweat is just fat crying. We're sitting down now with Jen Widerstrom. She is a fitness expert and also one of the trainers on NBC's "The Biggest Loser." Um, before we start anything, I just have to just have the camera focusing on these arms for a second. These are not photoshopped. This is real life. People can actually look like this. Like, can we do a side by side here for a second? This is called being weak, and this is called being strong.
This is just called years and years of of sports. Don't worry. I'm going to teach you a curtsy squat. It's the polite one. It's called,
Girl, you're going to have me cracking up today.
Okay, so essentially what's going to happen, you're going to take one leg, reach it back into the side and you're going to feel, pause right there, a ton of recruitment right here in the booty, you're going to press up and stand.
Okay, let's talk about the book because it's "Diet Right for Your Personality Type". It's really working for people because why?
What I saw was an opportunity to do what I coach all the time, in the room with contestants or my clients, and say, "Let's identify who you are." So there's a personality assessment in the book. We identify the personality, and then we celebrate it. We say, "Lean in. This is who you are. I don't want you to change and fit what I want you to fit into. I want you to be exactly who you are." Okay? And what am I doing with my hands? Well, this is the bonus part. You're welcome. So now, drop for me. Drop for me. Drop, press, curl. Ah. Drop, press, curl. Often times, when someone's starting out on a goal, whether that be packing lunches, drinking more water, or trying different workouts, they don't really believe it in the beginning. They don't believe it's possible. And it's my job and my joy as a trainer is to prove to them that they can. Order a natural, nice stretch, pulling up. Prove you got it. Bend. Straight. Gorgeous. And that's it. Curtsy squat. On to the next. On to the next. This is specific. You would mentioned that you don't do your arms a lot, so this specifically is for you. Give me an overhead toss to our partners. Okay? Have your hands ready. I'm going to lightly toss it to you, okay? You're going to catch it. You're going to bend your arms and throw it to me. Bend your arms a little bit more. You're going to.
That's like a great advertisement for like a shaving cream. You did it? But show me, show me where you felt it.
Um, like everywhere. Weight loss is easy. Anybody can do that. There are trainers out there that can actually create the weight loss in a healthy way and sustain it. I beg you to show me somebody else that does it like the way I do. So, Jackie, this is a dumbbell high pull. This is a very explosive movement using a ground, yeah, ground force transferring to the weight. Long arm. Chest is up. You're going to drive, drive, drive, explode and pull.
Oh, wow. And then tap down. Now, you were a hammer thrower back in college.
Good homework. Division 1. Yep.
You said somewhere that you ate when you were, this hammer thrower, you ate like two Chipotle burritos. So, what do you eat now? Do you ever, you know, give in a little bit?
Oh, come on, of course. I mean, I was watching Brady win the Super Bowl with pizza and beer. I was like, Okay.
Okay. She's normal. Yeah. You can still have muscles like that.
You can eat anything. But it has to be, I mean, again, I don't want anybody taking on a program that they look at, they're like, "Oh, no pizza for the rest of my life." I don't know if I can do that, but I'm going to try. If the answer is no, you're not going to do it. Understand when and what to eat, and how, but then live. Again, let's see it. Pull. Exactly. We got to watch out for the sensitive region. Oh, yeah. Okay, so you want to as close to your body as you can without hitting yourself in the and the face. In the boobies. Or the boobs. Now, reach up to your toes. A little air. Oh, well. There we go. Last two. Last one. Good. Drop. Switch. Other side. And now look, you have a burning, you feel you're working your legs.
I'm burning everywhere. I had a banana bread. She's still smiling. We're on track. Let's talk about that self worth for a second because I love this thing you do on Instagram where you post like a side by side of you either, like, in no makeup and then makeup after you admit that your glam squad hit you up for like two hours. Oh. Yeah. Or this picture. This is not an accident. Okay? Now, there's this. Or or you have like this picture of you like sucking in versus you like with your gut out. Why do you do that?
I think there's a misconception that because I'm the expert, I always look a certain way, I always feel perfect. I can't wait to go to the gym. No, the reason I'm able to coach it so effectively is because I live it. I breathe it and I understand it. It is a daily choice about the way we feel. It is a daily choice if I let you make me feel relevant or not, or whether I make myself feel relevant. So, I can allow body image, makeup, no makeup get to me, or I can share and say, "Hey, guys, it's normal and I can do something about it. And so can you." That's it. Cuz it's real. We're all human. I happen to be on TV, but if that didn't happen, I would be still just Jen. Just Jen. Just Jen.
I love that. I want you to play a game with me. In who would you train with, train with, fight with, fight with, trade bodies with. So, it's called train, fight, trade. Okay?

I would train with Khloe cuz she works with Gunnar, my best friends and she really trains hard. I would fight Kim and I would. You win. I would trade with Kylie.
Okay. Models. Oh, God. Okay. Last category. Last category. Gigi Hadid, Gisele, or Alessandra Ambrosio? Train, fight, trade bodies with.
I think I'd have to train with Gigi, fight with Alessandra. I'm trading with Gisele. Right? Everyone would train with Gisele. I would I would trade her hair, her eyelashes, her smile, her her accent. The whole shebang. I mean. She's got the life.
Okay. This is a great way to get your head in the gym. This is full body, but mostly arms. Stand forward just a little bit more. You want to always want to make sure there's a 90 degree angle. So, now, we're going to do 20 waves. Right here. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. Oh, my God. Great. Okay, now, in and out. In and out. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6. Wider. 4, 3, 2, 1. Nice. 10 slams. Bigger. 2, 3, 4. We got to do it again. That was like That was like hi. I want explosive. Okay. Aggressive. Okay. Go. Come on. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Woo. Truck them. Your hair looks great still. That's the important thing. Now let's flex. It works. I'm almost there. We did it.
