Hey, guys. Erica Ross here. We're gonna meet up with Kate Flannery, one of your favorite co-workers from The Office, as she gets ready for the Sag Awards. And I'm here with celebrity makeup artist Alexis Vogel. And many of you know her as Meredith from The Office. Kate Flannery. Alexis. How are you? All right. Now, you are getting ready for the Sag Awards. Tell us, what look are you going for? I am going for a very flirty, classic, romantic, sexy, bombshell look. I wanted to take her away from, um, her, her actual character on the show. And, and really, just The drunken floozy you're not interested in at all. Right. I wanna show I just wanted to show, um, her natural beauty really enhanced.
All right, Alexis, tell us about Kate's hair. I wanted to do something different and current and, um, but retro at the same time. So, kind of a mix between, uh, Jessica Rabbit and a Veronica Lake. Now, what are some trends for this season makeup-wise? Cat eye is, is really very popular right now. And eyeliner that angles up, that pulls your eye up which lifts everything. And, um, and then you can smoke the cat eye, so a very smokey eye. She's amazing.
And I will tell you, this has been an interesting experience because I usually, I mean, my expectations are, um, you know, I mean, they're they're realistic, um, uh, and I feel like she far exceeded what I thought I could look like or who I thought I could be. Now, being on the red carpet, getting all dolled up, obviously you have to eat fresh. Tell me some things that, uh, are your favorite. Uh, you know what? I just keeping it really simple. Like, I just had a couple eggs for breakfast. And I'm just getting a little a little bit of chicken and just a little bit of protein just to kind of get out there. And balanced. And caffeine just to, you know, so you don't get cranky.
And you keep it moving, right? Now, The Office has been a huge phenomenon. How did you know when you had made it? You know what? I think, um, when I actually kept kept my restaurant job the first season. So, when I realized I could quit my restaurant job, I was like, I think something big is happening. I was gonna ask you, did you do like a Jerry Maguire moment? Like, I'm out of here. Not exactly. Although, I will tell you, my boss said, we were gonna get you a cake. But you'll be back. Speaking of jobs, what's the worst job you've ever had? Aside from the serving job, which seems like it was pretty, uh. Oh, my gosh. Um, you know what?
Um, uh, I once worked in an office, for real, uh, doing computer programming and there's a guy there were no windows and no, uh, you know, it was just like a dark place. And no laughs. Right. And no laughs. And this guy kept taking off his shoes. And it was like it was like, oh, hell. Oh. Anyway. First and foremost, congratulations on your nomination for Best Comedy Ensemble. Thank you so much. So much. I'm not the only one in the ensemble, but thank you. But your character really is so much fun. How how cool is it to play Meredith? It's the greatest job in Hollywood. Come on. Right? I mean, this season in particular has been such a blast.
And, you know, just with the whole lice episode and Meredith shaving her head and showing those lice who's boss. It's so crazy. I don't know. When you read the script, were you like, wait, what am I doing? Or was it just like, of course Meredith would do that. A little bit. Yeah, I sort of feel like nothing really surprises me. I mean, everything surprises me and nothing surprises me. It's but it's such a fantastic character. And I I I'm so surprised how much people relate to Meredith. Do we have that many partiers in offices? Tell me one of your favorite episodes that you've had the best time filming. Um, one of my favorites was when, um, uh, Michael Scott takes Meredith to rehab.
And we had that whole entire kicking and screaming scene in the parking lot. That was so fan so much fun. So fantastic. It was that and that's it's an a close second is, um, the episode where Michael Scott and, um, Diego Vickers, uh, who's, um, played by Will Ferrell, come to Meredith's house and she's not there cuz she's doing the Walk of Shame. And then she's like sort of catches them on her porch. That was like one of my favorites. Oh, my God. Such a blast. Now, I've got some office etiquette questions for you. All right? Inner office romance. Um, do. Of course. Why not? I mean, throw it on the wall and see what sticks, right?
Eating another person's lunch that was left in the refrigerator. Well, if it's more than five days, it's fair game. Right? That's what I say. Forwarding inappropriate emails to co-workers. You know what? Um, inappropriate is a very vague term. Not everybody. You know what I mean? If you don't have a sense of humor, buy one. Dirty dancing at the office holiday party. Come on, that is expected. Right? That is all all bets are off, right? I mean. Absolutely. Yeah. Tweeting photos from your weekend in Vegas to co-workers. Uh, you know what? You're I think it's supportive. I think you're actually like, it's like being a team player like, wish you were here. Look what you missed.
Filling you in ahead of time. Regifting a Secret Santa gift from something you received from a fellow employee. Um, you might have to change the wrapping. Nobody really notices. Nobody really pays attention. Or in a different bag. Absolutely. Change the tag. Don't forget to change the tag. Awesome. Thank you so much. You're so incredible. We love your character. We love you, Kate. And good luck tonight. Thank you so much. We're gonna have fun. Thank you.
