baroque here on the orange carpet at the Halo Awards and we're chatting with Flo Rida, Tori Kelly, Joe Jonas of DNC and of course, the man behind the event, Nick Cannon. Every year it keeps getting bigger and bigger. How does it feel to see the awards growing?

Nick Cannon

I mean, it's amazing. It's truly the Halo effect. Uh and to see all of these young people continue to be inspired and continue to inspire others. That's what this award show is all about.

Young Hollywood

What does it take to make a catchy tune?

Flo Rida

Um definitely got to have some great melody. You got to have a great vibe going on in the studio and um you got to have Flo Rida.

Young Hollywood

Pick me back now to the American Idol days. What kept you going after that moment to reach this point?

Tori Kelly

You know, I I think it was song writing that really helped me. Um it was another outlet, I think of just a way to vent. I was definitely sad but um but it it worked out because that's right when I started taking things into my own hands and posting videos and just being more involved um with the fans too. We just love each other and we support each other. We're dreaming something same, you know, all the time. Same dream. unified dream. Yes.

Young Hollywood

Now one of your biggest Twitter fans tweeted me this morning and wanted me to ask you, what's your favorite and least favorite part of touring?

Tori Kelly

I think my favorite part is getting up on stage, meeting those fans in each city.

Young Hollywood

You've worked with everybody from Sia to Robin Thicke. Who do you still want to collaborate with?

Flo Rida

Oh man, um I would love to do something with Beyonce. I'm a big fan of Outcast, you know. So there are a few.

Young Hollywood

You're watching Beyonce and Outcast collaboration. Who's your dream collaboration?

Flo Rida

Dream collaboration? Um I'm going to say Lenny Kravitz would be cool.

Young Hollywood

Love it. You have a new movie coming out with Spike Lee. How was it to work with the legend?

Nick Cannon

I mean, it was amazing. I mean, honestly, I wanted that all of my life. That's all I ever wanted to do. He was the director, the first person I ever really recognized that could take a movie and take a vision and take it all the way from beginning to end. And for him to choose me to be in his film, I I feel honored and blessed.

Young Hollywood

Now, you also released a music video as part of that. Do you think we'll be seeing a new album from you soon?

Nick Cannon

You never know, man. I'm starting to stay behind the turntables and the producing and stuff, so you'll definitely hear some music from me whether I DJ or whatever. But you know what if the project calls us for it, I'm an artist at the end of the day. So you always going to see something from me.

Young Hollywood

Now tonight is all about making an impact. Who's had the greatest impact on your life?

Flo Rida

My mom.

Young Hollywood

Oh. What what did she do for your life?

Flo Rida

Oh man, you know, just she's definitely an inspiration to what how she walked, how she talked, how she has faith, you know, and how she's always giving.

Young Hollywood

Who's had the greatest impact on your life?

Guest

Definitely either my mother or my grandpa or just someone in my family because I just have a family of veterans. We got a firefighter, we got a nurse. We got just a whole family of veterans and uh I just see them making a difference every day. My dad's a hero. Honestly, he's like a superhero in big, heavy firefighter gear. And then my mom, she's saving all these kids' lives every day. And I just couldn't find better idols. Second guest: I'm going to have to say my parents. Um, they really inspired me to be able to do what I want to do and and always told me that I could follow my dreams. And I think if they hadn't raised me that way, I wouldn't be where I am right now. So, I'm going to say my parents for sure. Third guest: I would definitely have to agree with him. I I'm from a small town in Texas and so becoming an actor was always kind of like people didn't really do that. And they definitely pushed me to follow my dreams. So without them, I wouldn't have any of this.

Young Hollywood

All right, so how did TV change your life?

Guest

It really did change my life from the ground up. It changed everything. I It's not just one thing, but it changes everything. Second guest: TV changed my life from like being away from my friends and family a lot. Like it was kind of like we're not seeing my friends and like not all of them had phones yet, so we didn't really stay in touch. So that was kind of like it changed my life a lot.

Young Hollywood

What's been the craziest thing one of the fans has done to get your attention?

Flo Rida

Tackle me? Literally?

Young Hollywood

Yeah, yeah, literally tackle me. How did that go over?

Flo Rida

Um well, at first I I thought, what what what's this? And then uh and then they said, I'm a fan, I'm a fan. I thought, okay, man, just next time don't spear tackle me.

Young Hollywood

Tackle of love.

Flo Rida

Yeah, I mean it was all in love, but like at the same time like please don't spear tackle me.

Guest

I'm excited to see I I think like Tori Kelly performing that would be cool to see her and stuff. She's right down there. Did you meet her? Second guest: No.

Guest

Maybe you will. Second guest: Yeah, that would be awesome.

Young Hollywood

How do the young people here inspire you, Nick?

Nick Cannon

Man, I they make me feel lazy, honestly. I mean, all that they do and and have started at such a young age to change the world. I mean, you my man Josh over here started when he was four and a half years old with his own organization. Very impressive. You know what I was doing at four and a half years old? Nothing. Lego. Yeah, exactly. So uh to to be a part of what these amazing people are doing and they they're so giving from their heart for each of their communities. So that's what it's all about.
