What's up guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood on the orange carpet at the Kids Choice Sports Awards, talking to some of the hottest athletes and actors around.
I wanna know what makes you a big kid.
Uh, I still ride my skateboard for a living.
I have four kids, so I have to stay connected. Uh, I watch Nickelodeon all the time, you know, I'm I'm always playing around with them and doing different things. Dressing up for Halloween, dressing up anytime I can.
How are you a big kid at heart?
Look at my jersey. I mean look at this, they got girl.
Behind the scenes what I don't see?
What you don't see? Um, me just participating with my kids doing what they're doing. You know, not not necessarily telling them what to do all the time but just sort of participating in their activities and trying to support them.
When the camera isn't rolling, how are you a big kid?
I dance randomly. Randomly, I just started dancing, so.
Okay, right now, let me see, let me see.
Camera was rolling so you I can't do it.
Okay, pretend it's not rolling. Let me see you dance. Go.
What advice would you pass down to kids who want to be in your shoes?
Ah, man, just work hard and you know, fight for your dreams. You know, uh, I've overcame a lot, never quit. Um, and believed in myself and you know, 14 years later, I'm still playing in the NBA. So just really, you know, try to overcome and keep fighting. But just to have fun and enjoy it. You know, you have to work hard, but you have to love what you're doing. So, uh, you know, work and and love it.
The details are very important. You have to, uh, you have to listen to instructions and when you're little, it it might not matter that much, but when you grow older, uh the details are important and that's what's going to make you successful. So always just take care of your schoolwork first. That's the most important part of this. Um, just to focus on that and then work hard on and off the court and anything can anything can happen if you just put your mind to it.
Not only do you have a job to do tonight, you're gonna be on stage with Mr. Hawk, right?
Love it. I love it, I love it.
You're doing Snapchat for Young Hollywood.
Yes, I am. You know, it's been, it's been a, it's been a fun time already.
Give me some insight. What have you been doing? I've been out here. I can't watch, tell me.
I've been a lot of things. You know, I've actually did a couple little bottle flipping things on the Snapchat, which is pretty fun and I've, uh, I've shot some things on the on the orange carpet. So, uh, till, uh, we've got some fun stuff planned for it, too.
Now, you are the youngest guy to play in the X Games. It's a lot of responsibility for someone so young.
You know, it's just all about what you love. You know, I I never planned out to be the youngest kid. I just loved what I do. I love skateboarding and I love the things I do and so it just ended up happening.
This is your daughter?
Yes, Katie's following in my fitness footsteps. So excited.
So, it's all about the kids. What would you pass down to the younger generation? What advice would you give them?
To move and get in sports when they're young. Katie was a D1 athlete at college playing lacrosse. It's all about getting them to start fitness early and instilling in them a good healthy lifestyle and eat healthy, eat a meal at home at least once a day.
What's the best advice you learned from your elder statesman?
Ah, you know, just stay fly. Yeah.
All the time.
All the time.
Explain now, break down, how do you stay fly? Tell me.
I'm Andre Drummond. That's the story. Ah.
Now, who do you wanna see come down the carpet? And if you get five minutes with them, what are you gonna say?
Oh my, there's a lot of people here. I mean, the legend, Kobe Bryant. Everyone knows. Um, I don't know. I just ask like what he did to push himself, how to stay motivated and everything. He's an amazing basketball player and had an amazing career.
The best experience was actually jumping into a vat of slime 'cause that was fully submersed. It wasn't like it came down on top of you. It was like I got to actually swim in it.
If you could slime anybody in your life, who's it gonna be?
I would slime these two. Let these two get slimed. See what it's like.
Do they know that? You want to tell them right now?
It'd be a surprise, they wouldn't be happy about it.
Well, I'm doing a thing with uh Jager Eaton here today. He's doing Snapchat for us today. Okay, so I think uh I think Jager should he needs a he needs an initiation here. Not 'cause I'm dissing him because I want him to like join the family.
Well, how do we make this happen? Let's try and orchestrate this.
Ah, you know what, if you watch if you watch, I think something's gonna happen.
Wait, I know you're doing something with him on stage tonight. Are you going to slime him? Are you telling me something?
We're gonna be slimed by default. That's all I can say.
In 10 years, I just want to keep loving what I do. You know, I love it, I love I love where I'm at right now and I just want to keep doing what I do.
And when you're not doing what you do, what are you doing?
Eating.
