Young Hollywood

Hey guys, Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood back at the Long Beach Grand Prix. It has been one amazing day with Indycar, right? Sage, one of the younger boys on the tour, 20 years old, how is that going for you?

Sage

Uh, it's good but that sometimes it's rough. I'm uh, I got some of the biggest pranksters on this team, so uh, being the young gun and having Tony, who's also the oldest guy in the series, you know, on one team is pretty fun but you know, I'm learning a lot and uh, you know, we take every day as a learning experience and just getting better and better.

Young Hollywood

Okay, you said pranks, what are they doing to you? Now, you gotta spill.

Sage

We were on the airplane and they had the flight attendants say on the whole plane that my, that my mom called and told me that I left my SpongeBob pajamas behind. It's just embarrassing stuff, you know.

Young Hollywood

Show me your car.

Sage

Oh yeah, let's go. Okay. We have I think five or six trailers that all connect to each other. There's a shock room up in there where they work on all the shocks and dampers and stuff. And then we can go out here to the cars. There's two cars out there and two cars on that side. This is where our PR guy, his little station, his little cubby. And this is where we all just eat lunch and stuff when lunch comes.

Young Hollywood

Nice. Do you eat like a 20-year-old or do you eat like a professional athlete?

Sage

No, I eat like a 20-year-old. That's for sure. And then, and then the other one, I'm trying to smile now. I would, of course, it's the messiest. This is my uh, my mechanic here, his name's Mike.

Young Hollywood

Hey mechanic. How you doing?

Mike

Eating, it's good.

Sage

This is my car.

Young Hollywood

So, obviously, racing your biggest passion, if not the biggest passion in your life, what's another passion you have?

Sage

I like, I mean, I'm a big athlete. I like football. I think that's my second love, would be football. So, um, anything athletic and anything with an engine, I'll, I'll drive it. So.

Young Hollywood

Great. Yeah. Nice to meet you guys. Thank you.

Sage

Pleasure. Yeah. Thank you.

Young Hollywood

Joseph, good to see you again.

Josef

Great to see you. Long Beach is here. It's my favorite time of year. Our favorite time of year.

Young Hollywood

What have you been up to, young gun?

Josef

I've been up to a lot of things. Uh, I got a new team, CFH Racing. Been on simulators a lot. That's what we use in Indycar to train.

Young Hollywood

Is this a 24-hour a day, seven-day a week, 52-week out of a year job?

Josef

It is. It's, it's very demanding. You know, people don't know necessarily what race car drivers do but, you know, we train a lot. It's very physical inside these cars. There's a lot of work that goes into it and I, I spend a lot of time with the team trying to make myself better.

Young Hollywood

Speaking of cars and drivers, I just got out of a two-seater with Mr. Mario Andretti and he took me around twice.

Josef

That's cool. Mario's okay. He's getting a little old but, you know, he's Mario Andretti. He's like one of the most famous race car drivers in American racing history. So that's cool but, maybe you could try my car. My car is pretty cool too, right?

Young Hollywood

Do you want to step in? May I?

Josef

You can. Yeah. It's a little tight of a fit. Yeah. But you'll figure it out. Yeah. And then you just, you plop right down, you know. You slide in as they would say.

Young Hollywood

As they say. It's nice, right? Woo! You think you could drive one of these things?

Josef

Absolutely not. Absolutely not. No. No.

Young Hollywood

Thank you.

Josef

Thanks for coming to and seeing my car.

Young Hollywood

Amazing. Beef. All right, it has been a long day and I am starving. Right now, I'm outside the Indycar Paddock Club. This is where drivers bring their VIPs, celebrities come here, all their sponsors and I hear it is the best food at the track. Let's go. Okay, I see dessert over here but I think I'm gonna have to come back for that because I'm out of hands. Okay, let's try the food. Good. Connor, so here I came, having a little lunch and I run into you. It's a very special place we're in, right?

Conor

Yes, exactly. This is the Paddock Club where we're all coming to chill out and have a nice meal after long stressful activities of the day.

Young Hollywood

Okay, if you could do something crazy besides driving a car at 200 miles an hour, what would it be?

Conor

I would do some skydiving. I want to do some of that. I think that would be kinda cool. Uh, I want to go to space. Don't know how well that's gonna work out but I'd like to go there.

Young Hollywood

So then how do we wind down? How do I wind down? Some wine down.

Conor

I mean, you know, I'll have a nice relaxing day here. Um, won't be drinking on a race weekend but you can have wine, you can have whatever you want here because we've got

Young Hollywood

We've got all kinds of stuff here. We've got wine. Wait, there's water. Can I pour you that?

Conor

Absolutely, absolutely. Oh, look we have desserts. Which one you want? I'm down for this one.

Young Hollywood

Okay, let's peel it. Let me give the athlete the water.

Conor

Oh yeah, thanks.

Young Hollywood

Give the reporter the wine. Thank you for ending my amazing day. Thank you for being here. Cheers.

Conor

Thanks. Thank you.
