Andy PowerShares Series. It's competition, but really it's comedy.

Yeah, we we are, the way we play is laughable now. Um, no. We we have fun, you know, it's it's a little bit more laid back than when we were on tour and it's, you know, there's some jokes and we all get along pretty well. Once we start playing, we do actually take it pretty seriously. We're competitors, that's what got us to where we got on the main tour, but but now we have a little more fun, we're more relaxed. You can you can laugh at yourself, you can have a good time and hopefully laugh at your opponent more than you're laughing at yourself. Most important thing is the crowd. You want to get them involved and make sure they have fun and you want them leaving having a great time and and being excited to come back, you know, next year with with friends.

Okay, former number one, world famous. Tell me something that is really, really ordinary about you.

Pretty much everything except what you see. That's for And my my friends will tell you that's that's that's the truth. I I have one talent and that was tennis and that was that was suspect at times also, but my everyday existence is a is extremely ordinary.

You know what, I'm really ordinary at parking. I'm not a very good parallel parker. Um and it's embarrassing because I was born in New York, but I'm really not very good at it.

Okay, you know these guys really well. Tell me something about each of them that no one knows.

Oh man, I don't know if I can say that on camera. Andy and and James both love they poker and they go.

Yeah, all the guys are pretty good golfers. So that's uh that's something that's fun. If we if we went out of the forest, I might be the worst guy out here because they're uh they're all pretty good.

Well, then you gotta tell me something about you that no one knows.

Huge passion. Besides my family, surfing. Love my surfing.

We're in L. A. , USC, your family coming out to see you?

No, I don't know. They're not real impressed with with me playing tennis anymore, so.

So they don't know they don't they it's kind of a solo adventure now. I know you wrote on Twitter, I used to play tennis. Uh this isn't used to, it's still present tense.

Oh, I'll change it to I used to be good at tennis.

I think you still have it.

I I play one day and then I got to take the next three days off, but unfortunately, it doesn't work that way on tour.

Craziest place you've been recognized.

Craziest place I've been recognized. I feel like anytime I'm carrying my racquets it it I get recognized but if I if I don't carry my racquets, I can pull the hat down and and no one really knows me, but I've definitely heard uh I I think it's funny when I get recognized as someone else. I've gotten recognized as uh Jeff Blake, the quarterback. And now there's a singer name James Blake, who I've gotten that if I hand my credit card, people think I'm a singer.

Do you sing?

No, not at all. I am awful at it and if uh I would be horrible at karaoke.

Okay, as people know, you used to be on a reality show. Used to be, you're happily married now.

No, never happened.

I'm here to remind you of those dark days. And I have to ask, do you have a reality TV confession that you're sitting home watching?

Actually, I have seen a few episodes of um The Bachelor. No. It's uh Total Divas. I I used to love my wrestling when I was younger, so that kind of like has an inside view of of wrestling. So I must say unfortunately I I watch a little bit too much more than I should be watching, but I watch it with my wife so I don't feel that bad, you know.

You're blaming it on her then.

Yes, exactly. That's exactly what I'm doing.

You and your wife Brooklyn literally are a comedy routine. And what's with the poop jokes? I mean, really?

That's that's probably me. Um yeah, I see my my good friend James Blake over here laughing at me when you brought that up, so I don't really have an explanation for it beyond immaturity by me.

Do they allow immaturity on this tour then?

They encourage it, yeah.

So, are you enjoying retirement? Or are you

I I've loved retirement. I've been so so fortunate to have some time off and away from the game and and with my family. It's been a blessing and I always wanted to have that time and and I'm so lucky to be able to be around for that.

You actually played Roddick just a little bit ago out in the desert and he had this ridiculous serve. What's it like facing that when it's coming at you?

Andy's one of the biggest servers in the game and um there's nothing much you can do. Sometimes you're going to have to uh guess and and pick and and put your record out and and uh get lucky, you know.

The serve, what's the secret behind the serve?

I don't know. It's it's you figure that's the one it's the one question that stumps me, it's the only thing I was good at, so I I I don't it doesn't go as fast as it used to, but I can still hit it sometimes.

I mean, and it's enough talking or are you going to play? Did you bring shoes or are you going to do them those little two little things?

Uh, oh, I flat. Okay, go to it. All right, so you can play a little bit here. Just think if she had real shoes, she'd be kicking my ass. That was out. Okay, you call it. I'm I'm good. You win. Next time I'll wear a better outfit.

Yeah, that was pretty pretty impressive.
