What's up, guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood, coming to you from Fontana. I'm at the Auto Club Speedway surrounded by NASCAR greatness as they gear up for the Auto Club 400.
Yesterday, we qualified so we already know our starting position. Today we come in, we have two practices. We just go over the car, pretty much trying to set up for what it's going to do tomorrow. It's kind of our final shot to be totally prepared and ready for tomorrow's race and, and hopefully have a shot to win it at that time.
Oh, nice. Let me see what you guys were doing in here. Oh, my goodness. Okay. What happened to the door?
Obviously the cabinet's wrist pull apart. We have a spare car right above us just it's race ready. We got the cars up here. You can store two cars, one primary and a backup. Um you can do shock stuff here. Set up all your shock. Shocks. Shocks. Shocks.
Yeah, we're taking shots before we get on the track. That's what they're doing.
Yes. This is kind of our home base outside of the haulers for the weekend. This is where the guys are at all day long. This is where they're working the most. As you see, we've got toolboxes lined up from front to back. It's got everything that you need from parts, pieces, shims, different things on the race car. Even zip ties. We can fix up all that stuff.
Wait, you're holding the car together with zip ties?
Certain parts of it. Don't don't get too scared. It's fine. We'll take you We'll take you for a We'll take you for a ride later. We'll zip tie you in. You'll be fine. It'll be perfectly safe.
I'll take it. We got zip ties. Right. Wow. You know what you're doing. Did you see it my address? No, you didn't get. You got it figured out? What do you What do you um now What do you mean, um? Now, what are you doing? There's no time for um. You go fast. Do you not have miles per hour or anything like that? So you have lights.
4700 will be our pit road speed this week. So those two red lights will light up. If the third one lights up, you're speeding. You got to slow down or they you'll they'll bust you and you have to come in. It's something called speeding.
Yeah, just on just on pit road.
And if you're speeding on pit road, you got to come in and make a pass through and you go a lap down and your guys are super pissed.
Oh, of course, they are. So you can't do that. This is an incredible um machine. You really want to drive it, don't you?
No.
Do you ever text and drive in this?
Hell, no. You got your hands full in this thing.
All right, I'm getting in the pace car and by the way, I signed a waiver saying if I die I can't sue anybody. This is not the 405. It's 100 miles per hour right now. Easy on the turn there, buddy. Oh, my! There goes 120. He's going to go 120. I think I found a new hobby. Tell me what you're thinking when you're going around that track, driving your automobile. Not thinking about groceries or anything like that.
We're always thinking about, you know, how to make ourselves go faster.
What's the craziest thing you've had to sign?
Never signed a pair of boobs. I haven't done that. I haven't signed a baby yet.
He's signing it right now. Oh. I am driving the pace car today. How'd you get so lucky? I don't know. I'm all hooked up. I was about to say I dated Jeff Gordon and then I was like, what a weird lie. It's a weird lie 'cause he's married and has kids. I don't know. Oh. When I told people I was interviewing you, they said, be careful, he's really dreamy and he has really dreamy eyes. They're right. They're crystal blue.
Thanks.
Here is NASCAR's number one fan right here. There are cars all over the house, everywhere, little booby traps. Okay, I've already had some guys tell me they pee in their suit. You got to you got to give up the goods. Come on.
I'm I've never I don't think I've ever done it, so I I've been pretty lucky. I have gone to the bathroom twice in a car since 2008, so that's not too bad.
In a car, in your suit?
In my suit, yeah. You just got to make sure you shower afterwards.
They say it's cool to pee your pants, right? Is there like a diaper in there?
No. You just You just go and then you next pit stop you asked your guys for some water and you pour some water on you and Keep going.
All right, so the last guy that you wrecked, did you do it on purpose?
Uh, no. Well, yeah, yeah, I probably did. It was for the win. It was for the win, so
Say you have a weekend free. Weekend free. Anything you want, you can't race.
If I'm not at the shop or at the race track, I'm either golfing or riding my dirt bike.
Okay, so you have one day to do something. Not racing. What if I can't drive a car, I would have a beautiful girl driving a car for me. Preferably with the top down, going up like PCH or something in Malibu and then get out and like have a picnic somewhere. You're a romantic.
Uh, I mean, I don't know about that, but I like women and cars. So, so whatever you want to do with that, that'd be fun. So you're a guy.
Yeah, pretty much. Okay, I have one more question. Yes, you you are taken. Danica is your lovely girlfriend, but you have a lot of fans. There are a lot of women, girls that love their NASCAR drivers. What are you guys calling your groupies?
Sometimes you call them waffle bellies.
Waffle bellies.
Yeah, because if you see the chain link fences uh when you when you stand up against them, you look like a waffle. You got the waffle bellies.
Heard that.
Yeah. You've got the uh pit lizards.
The pit lizards.
Yeah.
Is that something you can say in it to their face?
I probably wouldn't do that, yeah. No.
I call them racer chasers.
Racer chasers. Yeah, what do Kyle call them? It's just helmet something. Yeah, there's different names. We have to rewind.
I call them helmet hangers. Okay, that's what he said. That's pretty good too. You got your cars. You got your women.
Yep. I mean, really? No, it's pretty it's pretty sweet. Now, we get to do all this stuff. Actually get to be here, race on a big track or, you know, all the fans here and it's It's awesome.
