What's up guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood, coming to you from South Florida. I am inside the Bank Atlantic Center, home of the Florida Panthers where I'm about to go one on one with one of the NHL's top enforcers, George Parros. George Parros. We are in the locker room in South Florida, far away from Southern California where you just came from. How's the transition been? Coast to coast.

It's been pretty good. I uh I always joke around and say my agent only only puts me in the Sunshine Belt. So, here we are in Florida.

What happens if you get transferred to Minnesota ever? Then what do you do?

Oh, man, I guess I'd fire my agent.

So, this is your little nook.

This is it. This is home for me. They stick me in the corner, but uh that's good because I have a good perspective on the rest of the room.

Well, you've been around the block a while. You probably have things to teach these guys, if anything. You ever uh show them how to fight?

Uh I have at times. Yeah. I think uh I think I have a lesson coming up with Shawn Matthias here. He asked me to give him some pointers every once in a while so, we'll see what we can do there.

We're going to go get a tour of the arena and you're going to show me how to fight.

Yeah. Let's do it.

All right, Leslie. So we got you out of the locker room. Smells in there. There's guys run around everywhere getting ready for tonight's game. Let's go check out the arena. The smell isn't that bad, though. Although hockey bags do smell awful.

Well, I think it's been scientifically proven that hockey players are probably the smelliest of all athletes. Or at least their equipment is.

Well, you brought up scientific stuff. You were actually just voted one of the smartest men in the NHL. In sports, actually.

I was up there. Yeah. I don't know who ran that contest or study, but I'll take it.

Mr. Princeton, graduated Economics Degree. That's rare. I mean, I love that.

It's rare. It's something that I think is, you know, obviously sets me apart, I think, but I've been working really hard to avoid uh using that Economics degree and just focusing on my on-ice uh product.

Well, okay. You're very much known for your mustache. Look at your shirt. You're wearing the mustache.

Walking cliche, like I said. Yeah. I just happen to catch me on a random day.

Why the mustache? Why did it start?

I'll try and make the long story short. I grew it out kind of just for fun and uh took it into training camp and uh in then Los Angeles, the king the new coach told me I had to keep it. So, I kept it and they cut me. So, I ended up going to Colorado and Joe Sakic uh saw me the first day I got there and I'd shaved it and he's really mad. He's like, you better grow that thing back out. So, captain tells you to grow it out and you grow it out.

It's historic. And I think people now want to look like you. And you have the fake mustaches people buy.

Yeah, I think the fans have a lot of fun with it. I think it's something they can rally around. Obviously, I think it's uh great that they uh support me in that way.

Okay. You are one of the NHL's top fighters. You're a fighter. What are the rules of engagement for a fight?

Uh, you know, if guys down, you don't really try to throw punches unless he's done something really dastardly out there. So, uh you know, it's just kind of having a general respect for the position and the sport.

Have you ever broken bread with a player that you've beaten up on the ice and then how how does that go?

Yeah. I know I know a lot of the guys I end up fighting, guys. Especially uh Kevin Westgarth at the Carolina Hurricanes now. Uh we were involved in the uh NHL labor negotiations for uh many months and we had broke bread many times.

Okay. I want you to show me how to throw down in a hockey fight.

Okay, we can do this. You square off, all right? And then you don't want to try and uh and get off balance too much. So when you throw a wild punch, you'll end up on the on the floor. So you want to stay in balance. But you and I, we're going to square off and I'm going to grab you right here. I like to get a good grab first.

So, you grab with your left arm first?

Yeah, I would. You you're smaller. So you're going to want to get inside and kind of punch up and hide underneath my armpits type of thing. So,

We're just going to start crying. It's going to be a It's going to be an ugly fight, though. So, you punch while you're holding?

Yeah, I do. I I hold the jersey and then I punch. It's like a jersey jab, they call it.

So, you're grabbing the shirt and it's like

Yeah, exactly. And then follow it up with a nice big right, maybe and see where it goes from there. It's like there's no game plan.

Can I see you do that? Do you grab and then you're going to

I'm going to grab like this and I'll punch you here and then I'll come punch here.

Yeah. And then how many punches do you get?

As many as you can get. As long as I can avoid getting punched, then I'm I'm a happy camper. So, we'll see.

So, what goes through your head before that fight?

You try to study uh online. I there's a lot of resources online you can see a lot of these fights, but you can't really have a game plan. Evander Holyfield, I think, said that, you know, your game plan goes out the door when you take your first punch. So, anything can happen in a fight. You just got to be prepared.
