Danica, this is an honor to be in front of your mobile home.
Yeah. It's a pretty expensive mobile home. It's more like a, it's like high-end camping.
High-end camping. They call it glamping.
Yes, I've heard of that.
Glamping. That's what this is. You can use that term now. You glamp.
I glamp. That's what I do. Every weekend. For your weekends, are you? We race for, you know, a solid nine or so months of the year and we're out every weekend. And if and then there's a lot of weeks that we're on track where we're testing. So, and then there's a lot of sponsor obligations, so you just stay very busy. Um, but but I uh, I I work out. I mean, being busy gives this body. Yeah, being busy doesn't allow you time to like sit around and just let it sit on you. You're always going, moving, moving, going. But, um, you know, I always eat healthy. I love to cook. Um, and I I'm not afraid to throw some weights around. My boyfriend and I do CrossFit and it's really fun. And it's really competitive. Have you ever heard of it?
I I have heard of it and I just came from Ricky's Holler.
Oh, yeah.
And we discussed your cooking.
What he better have said nice things.
He said amazing things. And you know what he loves?
What? Can you guess what he loves that you make?
Uh, liver mush?
No. Oh. It wasn't on the menu. Oh, I don't know then. Go the healthy route. Like He loves the healthy. Kale. He loves kale. He loves kale. He's like, what are we having for dinner? And I and he was like, Kale? Yes. I mean, what boy says that?
I was asking Ricky about when you guys go out for dinner, who drives and he says, in your towns, you drive because he doesn't know where he's going, but he likes to drive because you're a little aggressive.
I am.
So you take that?
I I he's he's good for that because he's a little more calm on the on the road and um then I can have a glass of wine and not worry about it.
Perfect match.
Yeah, he's my driver. Designated and disciplined. I love it. D D D.
But I have to ask, see, I hate slow drivers. I have no patience and that anger comes out.
Yeah.
So when you're on the freeway and you're driving in normal traffic,
Yeah.
What's your
If it's bumper to bumper, I don't really care because there's nothing I can do about it. But if I feel like people are passing me and I'm not in the right lane, like my stomach drops. I have a physical reaction to traffic and to wanting to go faster.
And what do you do? Do you scream? Do you
Well, when I used to be young, I just used to take the shoulder, but then I got older and I realized that's illegal. And there are bigger consequences. Um, but uh, I I mean, you just have to get in the lane and just use this throttle. Go.
Fastest you've ever gone on a track?
Oh, um, well, we're going over 200 here. Actually, you can see it as you're going down the front straight away here. You're driving into the mile an hour. You're like, 199, 190, 200, 201, 203, 203, 204, 205. Yeah. So you're going over 200 here, but, um, probably in an Indy car at the Indy 500, I think I probably got to about 240 at some point.
Do you like one more than the other? Indy car, NASCAR?
I like NASCAR. It's a lot of fun. People are great. The racing's great. There's bumping and banging, you're close quarters. I like it a lot.
So I have to ask, if you had one day to do anything you wanted, you couldn't race and you couldn't watch a race. What are you doing?
Uh, I'd sleep in till I naturally woke up and then I'd put my robe on, my big fuzzy robe, and I'd go to the kitchen and I'd make some breakfast and I'd watch a little TV and then I'd probably maybe I'd get ready, maybe I'd do some shopping, maybe maybe we'd go play golf or something like that.
I heard his golf game isn't too too good.
He's pretty good. Although I've been he's really good. Mine sucks.
He actually said his wasn't very good.
Oh, well, that's what he would say. He's like a seven handicap. So, um, he if he doesn't shoot in the low 80s, he's really angry. Um, I though have had a closer hole in one than he has. So, I don't know if that says I'm better or not, but Probably not. I mean, it was a miracle. Let's face it. Um, and then, uh, maybe some kind of a workout or maybe uh like we like going antique shopping. Is that terrible? Is that weird?
Danica likes antique shopping. What? Awesome.
And I've gotten into like, uh, you know, painting and woodwork and building things and making frames and so, anyway, maybe I go do that and, um, get dressed up. I like to get dressed up. I have all these nice clothes and I have nowhere to wear them most of the time.
I think you look great in this. This is your This is it.
Thanks. Thank you. Um, well, good because I wear it a uh probably um 140 days a year. So.
Green's your color.
Is it?
Neon green's your color.
Um, thank you. Thank goodness. Um, and then go to a nice fancy dinner. I like fancy food, so.
What's it like racing your man?
It's okay. Although it's always a little weird. You're trying to be careful around each other. And then there's the whole like, you still want to beat each other because you're still another car that you need to pass and, you know, so I'd say that it's uh, it's it's okay. It's fine. I mean, you're more than anything just trying not to make a mistake around him.
What happens if you get into a fight at home? You didn't make up before you got on the track. You just going to intentionally wreck him?
No. No. If that happens, we've got much bigger problems.
