Hey guys, Erica Ross here for Young Hollywood. We're about to crash the pad of Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Mercedes Lewis.
Mercedes. What's up?
Erica, nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you. How are you?
I'm good.
Rest some lunch. We're going to have a little uh turkey topia. I hope you like that.
I've never had it, but I'm hungry though.
All right, well, let's do this. All right, come on.
What would you usually get on on your Subway sandwich?
Normally, I would get a cold cut trio. Okay. Either that or an Italian sub. The cold cut trio, it has like just three different lunch meats, so I think it's like Bologna, salami, and turkey or something like that.
And what do you absolutely have to have on it?
Um, Pepperchini.
Pepperchini, you like spicy?
I don't necessarily like super spicy. Anything that's going to make my nose run while I'm eating, I don't want that.
Little kick. Okay. Let's dig into this. All right, Mercedes, I'm going to do a little uh, a little sleeping in your kitchen. Good luck. Is this a dishwasher?
That's a dishwasher.
Got some dirty dishes in there?
Uh, not so much.
Well, I see a wine glass.
Yeah.
And what else do you see in there? You are so clean. Did the maid come or do you clean?
Nah, I clean. I have to.
You clean?
Yeah. With this place, it's it's the dust that really gets me. And it shows because of all that light.
Yeah. Got a nice little curade. Got a K-Cup right there. Everyone?
Every now and then, the sleepytime tea.
Oh, the sleepytime tea. All right.
One of the biggest reasons why I like this place is everything is so hidden. And uh, in the kitchen, everything is so flush. And uh, this right here, it looks like a cabinet, but it's actually
Look like a secret spot. Now, you don't have that much stuff in here.
Yeah, because I spend a lot of my time on the road. This is actually all the shopping of my younger brother. I have an 18-year-old brother that lives with me. This is what he came up with.
This looks like 18-year-old shopping. Look at it. All types of chip bags open. It's like four different chips up there that are open. All right, pretty simple. Pretty simple. We got to go shopping here for you. Nice and easy. Let's uh, let's check out the rest of the pad.
All right, start up here first. This is the powder room. All right. Obviously, the first bathroom in the house.
Oh, this is nice.
Yeah, I went with the red walls because I've always wanted a red bathroom. This is the luggage. This right here is just like if my friends do spend the night, you know, they they're they're comfortable. And then I have the blow-up bed under front of there.
Now, you are just such a good host. I'm impressed by you. Uh-huh. I know. I gave you though you're a bachelor, it's like
She raised me right.
And then the next closet, the laundry room. Uh-huh. Okay. Do you do your laundry?
Yes, I do. I've been doing my own laundry since I was eight years old.
You have.
My mom had me when she's 15 years old and you know, she's always worked two jobs. She had me at 15, my younger brother at 18. Growing up, I never really got to see her, but she made sure that, you know, she taught me all the little stuff uh that it took for me to take care of myself when she wasn't there and washing clothes is one of those. So. So this is uh my brother's room.
Okay. Look at them chips.
Yeah, you see what I'm saying? Two more bags of chips. There's the evidence right there. I made him come in here and uh straighten things up. But for the most part, these are pretty clean kids.
Well, that's good. Now, when you're not here, he stays here.
Yeah.
Does he have parties?
No, he doesn't have parties.
Not that you know of.
I have uh, I have cameras in here. See that little guy right there? Look at that.
What's your 18-year-old brother's name?
His name is Cody.
Cody. Yeah, so I'm in the sky, I'm Cody.
This is my first pro bowl two years ago. Uh this is the jersey, the gloves, I caught my first touchdown. Amazing. Um, my tattoo artist actually did this for my birthday about four years ago.
Okay.
And this was actually a picture of uh senior day at UCLA uh against Arizona State and I dragged them into the end zone.
Let's look at these tattoos real quick. Okay. Now you just tatted up from head to toe?
Yeah, for the most part.
Okay. Legs?
Not legs. I I'm afraid to do my legs. And I I try scratching myself on my leg. Not. I don't really like how that feels. So, I'm not necessarily looking forward to doing that and so, I'll probably stay away from my legs.
What was your first tattoo?
My first tattoo was this guy right here.
Oh, I like it. Into your room, all right?
Into my room. Okay. Everything was basically all white in here and I had them put in the uh snake skin walls. All right, so this is the bathroom. And with this, I had to get all type of improvements by the city or whatever because I had them put jets in. They had this, originally, it was like down here. Okay. And obviously, I'm tall, so that's not going to work, so they had to move that up. My closet is still a work in progress. When I first moved in here,
Look at your loops.
Yeah. And this is like really nothing. I'm still trying to figure out a way to, you know, I'm probably not going to be able to fit all my shoes in here, but.
Oh, yeah. I don't really got a few pair of these. These are the ones that I that I really like. These are my favorites.
Oh, those are sick. I like those. These are my favorite. These are sexy right here. Look at those gold ones. I like these.
Now, where would you wear those to?
New Year's. Uh, I mean, I don't know when the next time I'm wear these, but they did their job on New Year's.
All right. I like this chandelier.
Thank you.
Did you pick this out?
Of course.
Can you come do my place?
I will.
Okay. If you need help, I got you. I need some serious help. All right. Now I know you're a big uh gamer, right?
Every now and then, like Call of Duty, the Halo, the UFC undisputed 3 is probably one of my favorites.
Okay. Speaking of UFC, I know you did a little MMA training.
Yeah.
So on your downtime is that what you like to do?
Yeah. I mean, growing up, I was always a UFC fan. And um, you know, now I was I'm actually on the platform to be able to meet some people to actually get in there and the right gyms and um, get some work in, actually learn the craft, and it's been awesome.
All right. Now, I couldn't help but notice your DJ stuff.
Oh yeah.
What's going on over here?
I've always been interested in doing it and actually learning it and um, having a couple friends that actually are great DJs, Okay. been giving me little crash courses and so, when I get good, I'm about you guys back over.
Please.
And I'm mix it up a little bit.
Perfect. What are some things you like to play?
Um, well, I'm a fan of all type of music. One of my favorite artists is probably Drake. I love Nirvana.
All right, let's come over here. I mean, does it get much cuter than this?
That's my little baby. That's my baby. That's my twin right here. Family, we all know.
I saw on your Twitter you had a picture with your sister, you give her a kiss on the cheek.
Yeah, that's my little baby. She uh, we have a great great relationship. She's 16 years old, so she's in that phase right now where she tends to talk back. She has her little run-ins with my mom. Uh and so I'm like her little outlet and I kind of like talk to her every now and then, so.
All right. And now, let's talk about what what what do you like on TV?
All right. So, Love & Hip Hop is recorded. All right. That's one of my favorite shows. 30 for 30 Broke is on there. Broke is something that I don't ever want to be a part of. One of the biggest fears of all athletes, entertainers, no matter who you are, is having it and losing it all.
Now, why do you think that is?
I think having the wrong people around you, whether it be your friends, it can also be your family sometimes. And not knowing how to say no. I think all of my mistakes, I let that happen in my first contract. And now all I'm doing is saving and, you know, trying to make the right decisions and um, no big investments yet. Okay. Uh, I think the biggest investment you can make is saving your money.
What a great role model you are. I mean, I'm blown away by you. We are so excited um that we got to interview you and you're such a stand-up guy. Amazing role model. And thank you so much for letting us crash your pad.
No, I appreciate it. I mean, I don't really have that much company, so I appreciate the company.
Well, if you're inviting us, we'll be here more.
Not a problem.
