Hey guys, Leslie Roberts here for Young Hollywood at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It is the NBA All-Star Weekend and from talking to the players to covering the celebrity All-Star game, I have got you covered.

Young Hollywood

Oscar nominee playing in the celeb basketball game tonight. What do you bring to the court?

Nick Cannon

Absolutely nothing. I probably won't score eight points, but if I do, I will.

Guest

I bring that Chicago hooping game, which is handles, being able to go to the hole strong, like Derrick Rose, D Wade, Isaiah Thomas, you know, and common. I'm gonna be I'm gonna try to be aggressive. That's all that's what you do, right? You just be aggressive. Try to win. Second guest: A lot of energy, a lot of excitement and and team play and ball movement.

Guest

And Spike Lee. Spike Lee's coaching the other team, you know, predictions? Second guest: I ain't got no predictions. Predictions are pain. That's what I got. That's Rocky 3 quote. Clubber Lang.

Guest

Most of us who play every now and then or haven't played in a while are not used to playing on an NBA regulation size court. So we will be very winded about seven minutes into the into the uh the event.

Young Hollywood

So how are you maintaining this physique? Eating fresh, what are you doing?

Guest

Uh yeah, I found a way to uh to eat fresh and find a way to to, you know, burn some calories from time to time. So.

Young Hollywood

What else you doing besides basketball? Fashion.

Guest

Fashion is what I do besides basketball.

Young Hollywood

Burning calories, doing fashion. Yeah. Talk about your physique off the court. What else are you doing to work out?

Guest

Um, you know, just trying to stay in the gym. You know, lifting weights. Trying to eat fresh. Uh, with with me not doing anything, you know, I got to keep my weight down, so I'm trying I'm eating right. A little cardio, running, you know, um really it. Do it some abs.

Young Hollywood

So I spoke to LeBron today and he was directed by Jud Apatow in a new movie. He's actually hilarious. What about Hollywood has piqued your interest?

Nick Cannon

I don't know, I just I'll love comedy. I love comedic movies and roles and and and TV shows my whole life and uh Jud is an unbelievable director and Amy Schumer is an unbelievable writer and and and actress. And I worked with Bill Hader before on Saturday Night Live, so it made sense for me. It was very authentic and it was easy for me. Um, even though it was a little intimidating before it started, but once they said action, I was I was pretty cool.

Young Hollywood

Which makes you more nervous, uh acting for Jud or the Finals?

Nick Cannon

Uh, acting. The Finals is just basketball.

Young Hollywood

Any advice for LeBron when he takes the acting route in Hollywood?

Nick Cannon

No. I think he'll do fine for himself. Be true, be creative, take lessons. Yeah, every now and then just like pull yourself out of it and just remember like to just be natural and be normal and talk like a human being. I think that uh that's not specific to him, that's just acting in general. You need a pep talk every now and then because everybody kind of you you acting is tough for some people and you just kind of find yourself acting, which is different than just being and listening.

Young Hollywood

What advice would you give him? Because he's a natural athlete, he's not a natural actor. I could never do the Finals or any of that stuff, but that's easy for him. So like when he's out of his comfort zone, it's going to be difficult.

Young Hollywood

The NBA has kind of risen the bar in fashion. Talk about your style.

Guest

Um, I'm a simple guy. Uh, simple, clean, uh, laid back.

Young Hollywood

Break down your style for me.

Guest

Uh, just being myself, going how I'm feeling for that particular day.

Young Hollywood

So who do you think the best dressed All-Star is?

Guest

Myself.

Young Hollywood

Good answer. Worst dressed?

Guest

Uh, myself at times too. I wear what I like. Is that simple? I don't wear what I think people going to like. I wear what I like.

Young Hollywood

How do you think that's changed from when you were a rookie to now, pro, you've been around?

Guest

Man, when I was a rookie, uh, I wore things that fit me a lot differently and I didn't really know what to wear. I sort of wore wore what somebody told me to. I'm more laid back. I don't I don't really get into the whole fashion thing, you know, as much as you know, Russell or LeBron and them guys, you know, but I I mean I like to dress nice.

Young Hollywood

Well, I see some stellar sneakers. I mean, when you're showing up to a game, how long does it take you really?

Guest

Oh, no, it ten minutes at most, ten minutes at most.

Young Hollywood

Are you looking like this every day?

Nick Cannon

Nah, nah, sometimes I wake up and just get out of bed, look like this, but for the most part, I I put a lot of thought and effort into it.

Young Hollywood

And your greatest, fondest memory in New York City?

Nick Cannon

Ah, man, so many things. It has to be spending Christmas time here with my kids. That's amazing.

Guest

The Finals in '99 has to be the best one. uh, defending the last shot and uh watching the ball fall short, or was it long? Either way, miss. And uh uh the team rushing the court. Second guest: New York is a special city and uh and to be here in an All-Star and my my brother and I being in uh in the All-Star game as starters, uh everything is just incredible. You know, this is considered probably the the capital of the world.

Guest

This was the the the hotel that I stayed when I was drafted first in the NBA in 2001 and to be here now as an All-Star, uh covering this moment, it's it's quite quite incredible. Second guest: I had 28 one night in the Garden. That was big for me. Uh, off the court, I think I bought my first pair of Louis Vuitton shoes here for Josh Smith bought them for me.

Young Hollywood

What was the price tag? Second guest: I don't remember. I just I always enjoy my experience, you know, coming here to the Garden. Um, you know, all of it hasn't been positive, but you know, majority of it has. I've had some great some great games, some great moments. But I would say, oh yeah, my most epic is the game winner I hit in the Garden. What am I talking about?

Young Hollywood

You're going to crush it in the Garden.

Nick Cannon

I am. I am. That's what positive thinking, guys. Positive thinking. I think I just pulled a hamstring.
