Young Hollywood

What's up, guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood, coming to you from Dodger Stadium. It is game three of the NLDS and I am bringing you all the action. So post season is going to be packed.

Guest

It's empty now. The fans are going to get you guys excited. Yeah, I mean this place is loud anyway, but uh, you know, we expect it with our sound system and with a packed stadium. It's just going to be hopping in here. So, we're going to try to feed off that energy and use it.

Young Hollywood

Post season. Any superstitions going in?

Guest

Uh, not right now, other than uh, just make sure my socks are clean and uh, I have my favorite undershirt and uh, that's all that's usually in my locker, so uh, we're good to go for that. I don't have a ton of superstitions. I mean, for me, it's just it's all about the routine, you know. I mean, nothing funny like, you know, the same underwear or anything like that, but uh, for me, it's just doing everything I normally do during the regular season and not trying to do anything different because it's a big game. All the same video preparation, the same physical preparation, mental, so

Young Hollywood

Hockey has the playoff beard, I see you have a goatee going. Is that your thing?

Guest

Yeah, kind of. I've been growing it ever since we kind of went on our run after the All-Star break, so I'm just trying to keep it going.

Young Hollywood

How do you mentally prepare for postseason versus regular season?

Guest

Uh, just a little more video, a little more preparation and uh, you know, just uh, have fun. My mind's always good. Um, I I I never uh, really sleep that much, you know. It's like, I'm constantly looking at video. Um, sometimes I wish I'm playing. There's a lot of pitchers out there I see I really like to fit my eye perfectly. Um, you just pass on myself and John Vason. We do a lot of good work down in the down in the cage prior to the game. You know, your adrenaline's much higher, you know, so you get kind of tough sleep sometimes, but, you know, what can you do? You gotta tough it out and uh, still come here to the ballpark and focus and try to help the team win.

Young Hollywood

Now, I'm seeing some guys throw on some cologne. What's your go-to smell for the game?

Guest

Uh, I just got uh, just the natural body musk. Absolutely, you gotta smell good, uh, if you wanna go out there and play good. So, I try to make sure I'm uh, got enough cologne on and everything, so.

Young Hollywood

What's your go-to cologne? You smell good.

Guest

Uh, I usually uh, John Varvatos is actually my real cologne.

Young Hollywood

This is the most noise I've heard coming off the field for BP, so fans are excited, we're excited. I'm excited. I've crashed BP. What else are you doing to warm up today?

Guest

Uh, just the same thing I usually do and, you know, it's it's fun. It's fun being postseason and it's fun being around our our our our fans, too. Uh, now after this, I mean, everybody takes their ground balls. Infielders take ground balls, after they'll take their fly balls, and after that, just get in there and get mentally locked in.

Young Hollywood

I'm in the dugout with you because it is blazing hot out there.

Guest

It isn't too bad, actually. I mean, if you get uh, warm weather in October, you're pretty thankful for it because the deeper you get and uh, the farther you advance here, likely gets some cold weather. So, we're gonna enjoy this while we can.

Young Hollywood

I think you'd want to enjoy it, given who cares what month it is, you're in the playoffs.

Guest

We're in the playoffs, we're in the playoffs in L. A. , so it's a pretty special thing. This is why you do it is to get in the playoffs and have a chance to win a World Series and uh, you have a tied series coming back here and you're looking forward to playing back in front of our home crowd.

Young Hollywood

Oh, say can you see? By the dawn's early light. Jessica Sanchez, you just sang the national anthem, you killed it.

Jessica Sanchez

Thank you. I'm so excited to be here. I mean, this is not my first Dodger's game, but it's sold out. There's like 50,000 people here, so this is exciting.

Young Hollywood

Now the last time we saw you, you sang in our studio, epic. And you grew up a Dodger fan.

Jessica Sanchez

Yeah, pretty much. I mean, I'm from San Diego, but Dodgers, you know, it's such a big team, I'm like, hey, what's up? I just moved here, so it makes even more sense.

Young Hollywood

Well, Don Mattingly says you guys have a fun clubhouse, you're fun guys. Who's the clown?

Guest

Uh, Nick Punto, Skip Schumacher. They have some funny stuff going. So, it's just it's just fun to be in the uh, locker room with these guys. Punto's always Punto and Schumacher always playing practical jokes, most on each other. They they always have a great time. Uh, this is one of the one of the better teams I've seen as far as everybody getting on everybody. Usually you find a couple of sensitive guys, but uh, we've had a couple of sensitive guys, now they're not sensitive anymore.

Young Hollywood

Everyone keeps bringing up the word fun. Don Mattingly said he has a fun clubhouse and he says, the boys are fun. Is that still the mentality out there? There's no pressure?

Guest

I mean, depends what you think pressure is. I mean, for me, pressure's kind of, you know, when you're afraid to fail and as a baseball player, you can't be that way. You just gotta go out there, be prepared, um, be a lot be very confident in who you are and what you can do and go out there and cut it loose.

Young Hollywood

I'm talking World Series. What are we thinking?

Guest

Yeah, World Series. I mean, that's that's it. That's why we're here, so it's gonna happen. Put myself in the best frame of mind to go out and execute.

Young Hollywood

Well then I'll see you at the World Series.

Guest

Sounds good.

Young Hollywood

Well go get a W for me.

Guest

Yeah, for sure. You know, we got that team, we got the ability, we got the talent, we got everything, so yes, I can see us in there.

Young Hollywood

Now, they're all super cute. If you could pick like one player that you would follow on Twitter, who would it be? Come on.

Jessica Sanchez

I can't do that to me. I love all of them, they're amazing.
