Young Hollywood, what's going on? We are at the Into Action event. And we're going to hang out with Black Eyed Peas and talk about new music and talk about how they are going to take action. We're hanging out with Black Eyed Peas. You did it again. Hanging out here with Black Eyed Peas. Oh, you guys got me before I did it. So talk to me about like what the the the message is that of this event.
We're here at an amazing art exhibit, movement, summit, do gooders, philanthropists, activists, you know, artists, and they all come and, you know, add to the culture and the community to express their passion and things that they're concerned about, things that they're fighting for.
Street Living Song. Yeah, street living. You guys lit just dropped that out, right? That just came out?
Yeah, that just came out a couple of days ago. We're talking about like prison reform, immigration, gun control, just all the things that we think proper cultures to stay woke on. It's harsh reality. It's dark, but with the sentiment of knowing that if you tell the truth and you speak on it and you come from a place where you're being honest, um, I think people it will resonate with the people around the world. Subject that, you know, we don't want the public to be numbed about, you know, like some tragic thing that happened and then you turn to your phone and you totally forget about it. But, you know, we just want to shine the light on these situations. Those little things, those are like just the event is all about. It's into action.
Now, making the song, I feel like that song has, it sounds street. I mean, it's got the old school vibe. You know, Black Eyed Peas, we're not copycatters. We've always led the way and whether folks follow or not, we always want to set our souls separate from the crowd. 2008, when everyone was doing what they were doing, we did electro music and helped Electro surface to the top. In 1997, when everyone was gang-banging, we were doing like soulful, jazz-inspired hip hop that was conscious. So here we are, 2018, when everyone is trapped out and doing the stuff they're doing, we are going to go this other route and we're going to talk about the things that are happening. We're going to make sure the mood is like cinematic and, you know, elegant, because we're telling these like harsh realities over juxtaposed against this like beautiful, somber, haunting music. Um, that's, you know, it sounds unique and and and refreshing. I couldn't have any better company than dreaming and recording and collaborating with, you know, family.
I saw out there you were you were showing off the iPhone app for the comic book.
Hey, remember we said layers. We got layers.
And send me the new book. I want the new book.
No, that's the same book, bro. You get your freaking go go to the App Store, download it and boom, it's gonna come to life, bro.
That's awesome, man. That's really cool.
We go to Sundance next week.
I know all about it. Tell, yep. For the VR.
VR. It's the next layer, bro.
Any actors in the VR? Yo, who you got? You know the actors in the AR? Who's in the AR? I heard a little bit of say. Who do you have?
So the actors in the AR are Krs-One, Redman, Flavor Flav, Jaden Smith, Queen Latifah, Rosario Dawson, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Godfather of comic books and narrator. Stan Lee. Oh, wow. Jamie Foxx. I mean, we got an awesome cast, bro. Masters of the Sun. Check it out.
Who wants this book? Who wants one of these comic books? I got a quick little game here real quick. Okay. It's how would you take action? You know, you guys are taking all this action. So it's how would you take action in these certain circumstances? Okay. Here's how we go here. How would you take action if the power went out while you're performing?
That happened before. Yeah, it has. So we're we're kind of used to that. It was New Year's. We were in Saint Martin. It was it was like, you know, we were doing, we were doing, "I Gotta Feeling." It was like, ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, No. Yeah. Zip, bro. We didn't even get to two and one. It was zipped out. So thank God we got a band. The band kept on playing. We made a song out of it. It's an important art.
How do you take action when somebody leaves a negative comment on Instagram or Twitter? Um,
Oh, block it. Just block him. You block him. Block him. If I could reply to stuff, I mean, I'm really, I really have nothing to do. I'm really, I think I got too much time. I don't have that much time on my hands to be replying to negative or positive comments.
Good answer. Okay, how would you take action if you could only eat one food item for for the rest of the year?
Jackfruit. Yo, bro, have you had jackfruit?
No. No.
Yo, bro, like, say, for example, you want to change your lifestyle like we did and become vegan, like I did. Jackfruit. You can make it taste like pulled pork. You can make it taste like freaking tacos and chicken tacos. It's like and it feel the texture is like crazy, bro. I'm like, get the hell out of here.
Where does it come from? Apple's like,
Jackfruit is from the Philippines. That grows next to my house. Real stuff, bro, jackfruit.
Last one, how would you take action if you only could play one Black Eyed Peas song? Forever? Forever. Forever.
Forever. We haven't wrote it yet. We have rotations. Like one week I'll be like, yo, I love that. Yo, I love falling up. Right now, Street Living, it's out right now. I'm in love with that record. I I keep playing it and and it just like, I notice different things. Like, damn, I was kind of like that emotion that I that evoked right there. Or the way that Apple said this or or will's tone like it just you just start really diving into it. So I would say Street Living right now.
I'll go buy the record. I was like, oh, they like it? Oh, should I like it too? I like that. We like you guys. You guys are awesome. Thank you so much for hanging out with us.
Thank you, bro.
