Welcome to YoungHollywood. com. I wanna hold 'em like they do in Texas. Please! Fold 'em, let 'em hit me, raise it, baby, stay with me. Hey, Young Hollywood, it's Michelle Marie with Lady Gaga on the set of your video, Poker Face. What is the whole theme and where did it all come from?
The song is about the way that girls catch guys. Okay. And how you gotta keep your poker face, because the minute you let the guy know how much you like him,
Exactly.
he runs with the help.
What's your poker face?
For me, it's kind of like if the guy that I'm interested in is over here. I thought that we could, you know, implement poker with the details. There's a lot of like poker makeup in the video. About the strip poker playing.
What's been the best part of the day so far?
We did the lightning bolt set up first, cause you know, I always have my lightning bolt set up. We also did one of my favorite looks of the day, which is this like amazing scuba outfit that I made. Full body, latex. Look at his outfit right here. It's actually lingerie. It can be unlocked with a key on the side. So this is for the strip poker scene in the video, while every other girl in the video, you know, takes her clothes off the way everyone else does. You unlock. You have to unlock your clothes. So there's a lock over there. Uh-oh. Where is it? Take out the lock, babe.
Where did you come up with this name Lady Gaga and what does it mean?
Well, it was a nickname. My producer Rob Furst, he used to call me Gaga in the studio after the Queen record.
So you're so on the cutting edge and just so on the forefront of what's next. How do you come up with all this stuff?
For me, it's all about doing your research. And pulling the proper references and surrounding yourself with a really amazing creative team. This is just fun. Oh, this is the funnest part about it. Like check out the eyelashes. I got these when I was in London at the Tokyo Lash Bar.
You have this very eclectic sound, but it's also very soulful. How did you come up with it? Did you have influences when you were younger that you listened to a lot growing up?
I started to look at, you know, David Bowie and Queen and the 70s artists as a template for being able to use, you know, fashion and theater and pop all together.
We talked before at the 944 event. You are going to change the world one sequin at a time. You know, it's really sort of just a metaphor for changing the world in more ways than just with the music. Do you feel like you've been doing that so far since the last time I've seen you?
I think I have. Yeah, I've been traveling and it's really exciting to see the music changing the way that young people think about pop. It's fantastic. I mean, I'm so blessed, I'm so appreciative.
You're also on some of the hottest shows, you know, for the younger generation. Gossip Girl, The Hills, Dirty Sexy Money.
I really wrote a record about pop culture. So these shows that are sort of emblematic of this generation of television, you know, they're gravitating towards music because it speaks to, you know, the new. Can't read my. Can't read my. No, he can't read my poker face. She's crazy. Hot. Money. Can't read my, can't read my. Hands up. Hands up. Let's go. I want no romance. We will be
