We're here with Alessia Cara. We're at Jingle Ball. This is the launch. First night. Are you like feeling the holiday spirit yet or?
A little bit. I think I'm I think I'm getting there. When I do shows like this, it definitely like hypes up the the spirit a bit more, but I I think until I see some snow. I don't know if I'm gonna see it here in Dallas.
I don't think you're gonna see it in Dallas.
In Canada, back home once I start to see the snow, then I I feel the the spirit more.
We're at Jingle Ball. Your boys are here tonight, The Chainsmokers, who you collabed with.
Yeah, they're here. Excited just to like have fun and just like get in the holiday spirit.
Yeah, it's gonna be really fun. Um, this is my first run of Jingle Balls, so I'm so excited for this whole process. It's gonna be amazing. And holiday time, what's like your favorite tradition that you do?
Oh God, my family's not very traditional. We kind of just like switch it up every year, but one thing we do do is just we travel to a new place every year. So we we always like to go like south or um explore like a new part of the States or part of the world. So that's really what we do.
I mean, you've been killing it right now. So like what do you want your fans to know like to look forward to?
I think I I'm just really trying to make make new songs and stuff cuz I've I've been, you know, singing the same songs for a couple years now and even behind the scenes like years before that. So I'm just ready to to make new stuff and just hope that people enjoy it and just try new things.
Lastly, your song, by the way, I jam out to it all the time. It's just got such a great message, like Scars. What what was the inspiration behind it? Like what do you want people to understand about the message behind the song?
Um, that song for me is I mean, not only a reminder to other women when I sing it, but a reminder to myself and it's basically a song about embracing yourself and embracing who you are and the way you look and all forms of beauty. And I think that, you know, nowadays people just kind of think that there's only one way to look and if we don't fit that mold then we shouldn't love ourselves. But this song is much more than that and hopefully speaks through all of that noise and and reminds people that there are so many different ways that we can express our beauty and we should embrace all of them.
Yeah, all that individuality. Uh, well, have so much fun tonight. So good to see you.
Thank you. So good to see you. Have fun tonight.
