Hey guys, Erica Ross here for Young Hollywood. We are at K-Rock's Almost Acoustic Christmas. We're going to take you backstage and into the dressing room with some of your favorite bands. We are here with Of Monsters and Men. Who are you guys looking forward to seeing tonight? Of Monsters and Men: In-N-Out burgers. Of Monsters and Men: I would quite like to see Walk the Moon. Of Monsters and Men: Okay. We just actually got to see Two Door who we've been listening to for a while. Of Monsters and Men: Rise Against. Of Monsters and Men: Who are some friends of ours? Of Monsters and Men: I would say Rise Against. We've become friends with those over the last couple years.

Young Hollywood

What is one of the bands you're looking forward to seeing tonight, guys? Of Monsters and Men: Uh, I'd like to see Garbage. Of Monsters and Men: Garbage. Of Monsters and Men: Bush. Of Monsters and Men: Bush, I'm also curious to see. Of Monsters and Men: Jack White. Of Monsters and Men: Jack White. Of Monsters and Men: Jack White. Of Monsters and Men: Passion Pit. Of Monsters and Men: Yeah, we've never seen Jack White play before, so we're gonna go Jack White. Of Monsters and Men: Yeah, we heard a little story that No Doubt's supposed to be playing so.

Young Hollywood

Really? Of Monsters and Men: Yeah.

Young Hollywood

You've been following around Grouplove for the last few shows. Of Monsters and Men: They're our buddies. Of Monsters and Men: Yeah, everyone really. We all we came to party with everybody tonight, so it's going down.

Young Hollywood

First of all, congratulations on your two Grammy nominations. Of Monsters and Men: Thank you.

Young Hollywood

Where were you when you heard the good news? Of Monsters and Men: I was opening for The Killers in Portland. Okay. And I just heard screams from down the hall of my bandmate. She was like, "Oh my God, that's amazing! That's amazing!"

Young Hollywood

Who was the first person to call you and congratulate you? Of Monsters and Men: Nobody's called. Of Monsters and Men: Nobody's called. Of Monsters and Men: That's not true.

Young Hollywood

Who was the first person to tweet you? Of Monsters and Men: Well, a lot of people tweeted. There was an influx that just went right...

Young Hollywood

Now, what is a song that you sing in the shower sometimes? Of Monsters and Men: I make up my own tunes in the shower.

Young Hollywood

You do? Of Monsters and Men: Yeah. I usually make up songs. Of Monsters and Men: Okay. That's like the best. That's the creative Of Monsters and Men: Absolutely. Paradise is the shower. Of Monsters and Men: And I usually sing Tales of Woe in the shower.

Young Hollywood

Sounds nice. Of Monsters and Men: They're very deep songs. Of Monsters and Men: They are. Our assistant tour manager has been the last month really has only been playing Christmas songs, especially Mariah Carey. And Ian even brought it up before, and so I've had All I Want for Christmas is You, like stuck in my head for a while.

Young Hollywood

Now, what was the last movie that you cried in? Of Monsters and Men: Oh, wow. I remember I can't remember the last movie I cried in, but I remember crying in About Schmidt. If you see Jack Nicholson cry, if you can't cry, you're a heartless human being. Of Monsters and Men: No, no. Of Monsters and Men: Yeah. I was driving actually at the time. Of Monsters and Men: But he still cried. He was watching that movie in the back and everyone was bawling. You could hear them, you could just. I was so bummed because I wasn't a part of it. Of Monsters and Men: Warrior. Of Monsters and Men: Edward Scissorhands. Of Monsters and Men: Oh, that is a sad movie, right? That's really sad. Of Monsters and Men: Titanic. We were watching it on the bus. Me and Richie, our sound guy. We cried together, just the two of us.

Young Hollywood

Oh. Was it sweet? Of Monsters and Men: It was.

Young Hollywood

What are some of the craziest things you guys have requested in a dressing room? Keep this PG. Keep it PG. Of Monsters and Men: Oh, well, jeez. You can't ask that and then say keep it PG. That's not really fair. Of Monsters and Men: I would say socks would be the funniest thing, because you run out of socks and they get dirty easy and some guys in the band like to use them for gross things, so I think that socks are a good way to keep the bus a little cleaner than they would be otherwise. Of Monsters and Men: Coffee products. Of Monsters and Men: Cider. Of Monsters and Men: Cider. Of Monsters and Men: Kombucha is kinda weird. We asked for that. That's a strange drink. Of Monsters and Men: I'm the biggest pain. Like, I I I only eat kosher food. Oh, so my rider, my my rider is really hard for people to find all this stuff.

Young Hollywood

What's the worst gift you've ever gotten? Of Monsters and Men: Uh, for my 17th birthday, uh, my parents forgot about it. And so, and so, uh, the next day they gave me two bar stools and a book of quotes by Mr. Rogers. Of Monsters and Men: I think my mom literally when I was a kid one time gave me coal and like for like a half an hour like played it off like that was all I was gonna get. And then she gave me presents afterwards, but. Of Monsters and Men: Socks. You know. Of Monsters and Men: You get socks? Of Monsters and Men: Socks. Of Monsters and Men: Socks that have like heaters in them. I remember I got those and you had to like plug them in. You could like cuz I always had cold feet. So my mom's like, "This is perfect for you." Of Monsters and Men: But I gave Arnar a certificate for a hot dog last Christmas. Pretty bad. Of Monsters and Men: But but you didn't receive it. Of Monsters and Men: I received it and I loved it. Of Monsters and Men: You loved it. So, it wasn't the worst gift, it was the best gift. Of Monsters and Men: Maybe. Of Monsters and Men: Exactly.

Young Hollywood

Now, have you guys ever regifted? Of Monsters and Men: Oh, absolutely. I do that every year. I'm about to regift. Of Monsters and Men: You like you shouldn't explain how you're gonna regift. Of Monsters and Men: I'm gonna regift some of the nice free K-Rock goodies that we got today to be honest. Of Monsters and Men: I think I have, but I probably blocked it out of my memory, so. Of Monsters and Men: I'm 100% against that. I think it's I think it's horrible. I think it the reason that you give somebody a gift is because you're a bad person. Of Monsters and Men: I regifted a wedding gift. I think it was like a toaster, yeah. Something like that. Of Monsters and Men: So not classy. Of Monsters and Men: I know. Of Monsters and Men: No. Of Monsters and Men: No. Never. Of Monsters and Men: No. I find that very weird. Of Monsters and Men: It's extremely rude. Of Monsters and Men: An American thing, right? Of Monsters and Men: Is it? Of Monsters and Men: Is it? Of Monsters and Men: I would be very mad if you would regift my gift. Of Monsters and Men: I would never. Of Monsters and Men: No, but my grandma did regift all the time. I think she gave me like a blender and I was six. Of Monsters and Men: But what if you get something great that you think, "I'd love this," but hang on a sec, what about this friend of mine that would love it more? Of Monsters and Men: I think if I think if you give that to an ex-person, but I think you should be honest about where it came from. Of Monsters and Men: Oh, yeah. Of Monsters and Men: Oh, yeah, definitely.

Young Hollywood

All right, now, in light of Christmas, we wanted to ask you, what did the three wise men bring with them? Of Monsters and Men: Myrrh, frankincense, and chicken nuggets. Of Monsters and Men: Fair enough. Of Monsters and Men: Frankincense. Of Monsters and Men: Frankincense. Of Monsters and Men: Myrrh, gold, and frankincense. Of Monsters and Men: We know it in Icelandic.

Young Hollywood

Which is? Of Monsters and Men: Frankincense, gold, and myrrh.

Young Hollywood

You guys nailed it! First ones to nail it. Yes. Of Monsters and Men: I'm I'm Jewish. It's true.

Young Hollywood

Also, in light of the K-Rock Acoustic Christmas, I'm going to sing 12 Days of Christmas, but you are going to chime in, all right? Of Monsters and Men: I'm not going to do that. I don't know it. Of Monsters and Men: No.

Young Hollywood

On the 12th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me. 12... You have a lovely voice. Of Monsters and Men: I don't. Stop. Of Monsters and Men: 12 801 Nation CDs. Of Monsters and Men: 11 piper's piping. Of Monsters and Men: 10 polar bears frying. Of Monsters and Men: Nine bottles of paprika. Of Monsters and Men: Eight sleighs. Of Monsters and Men: Seven. Get in here. Of Monsters and Men: Yeah, what are you doing? Get in the Christmas. Of Monsters and Men: All right. Of Monsters and Men: Seven. Swans a-swimming.

Young Hollywood

Oh, you're good. For a little low. Of Monsters and Men: Six sexy ladies. Of Monsters and Men: Five golden rings! Of Monsters and Men: Four Let's get this in here. Um, poops. Of Monsters and Men: Four mockingbirds. Of Monsters and Men: Three French hens. Of Monsters and Men: They don't get the game. They don't get the game. Of Monsters and Men: You guys are in the game. Of Monsters and Men: Interview's over. Thanks. Of Monsters and Men: He killed it. Killed it. He saved you guys.
