What's up guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood back at Dodger Stadium. Not to play baseball, no, to play ping pong with the man pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Tell me why we're here helping Clayton with his charity.
Well, Clayton is uh, you know, a great pitcher and a great athlete, but he's a great humanitarian humanitarian. He and his wife Ellen have created this wonderful organization. They do so much great work, Clayton and his wife and I mean I'm happy to support.
Speaking of look at that headband. Yeah. I know you're serious. How's it going?
Yeah, thanks for the invite. Yeah. You know, Kershaw and his wife have been doing this trip back to Africa for a couple years and actually invited me, but it hasn't really worked out in the past, but uh, I'm glad I can contribute any way I can. I love what the Dodgers do, just all good.
It is good and uh, you know, Clayton, obviously, he had to hold down last year. He was, he was in Africa during the winter. We got a chance to follow that on his blog. Talking ping pong, talking Clayton Kershaw, uh, who's incredible, obviously, on on the field, but the work he does with his wife, honestly, is really inspiring.
He's a great guy, does a lot of charity work. It's our event tonight and obviously ping pong is uh, my second favorite sport. Close behind baseball, so uh, it it should be a fun night for me for sure.
I love what you're wearing, navy, white shorts, Dodger colors.
Thank you. Thank you.
Looks like you're ready to play some ping pong.
Yeah, I didn't know what to wear to a ping pong tournament, but I felt like I wanted to be, you know, sleeveless, so that you could see my muscles at work. So even if I'm losing, I still look like I'm giving it a good effort. Hopefully I can just return it back. You know what? Everything is about baseball, including ping pong when you're at Dodger Stadium. It's a hand eye coordination game. I'm looking to score a 10-day contract from Magic off of this and uh, show them my hand eye skills. I'm good at everything, baby. You heard it here first. Nah, I'm kidding. I have prepared by um, not playing ping pong in years and uh, I did work out though today. So, I'm 50% prepared.
You know, I probably should have prepared a little bit more. I haven't played in a while. Uh, it's been since spring training, but uh, you know, hopefully the rust kicks off pretty soon and uh, you know, I can compete a little bit in this thing. There's some pretty good players around, so we'll see how it goes.
No, it's kind of crazy, right? I mean, can you imagine getting in front of one of those balls? Talk baseball a bit. Where are you gonna put the new Cy Young Award when you get it?
I'm not worried about that. I just uh, we got a month left in the season, so we're just going to try to make playoffs right now and uh, go from there.
Be one of the best pitchers ever when it goes down. Right now, at his age, he has the best ERA in the history of the game. All right, I don't want Clayton to hurt his throwing hand. So, as long as he holds his racket in his other hand, in his glove hand, then he's fine.
I'm a big Dodger fan. Um, I mean, I played ba I planned on playing baseball for a living. So, so to be able to hang out with some of these guys and to be here, uh, it's great for me. I love it.
We have a definitely great fans, but we've been playing really good baseball and you know, we have a great lineup. Um, and we have great rotation, great bullpen and you know, when we have a team as talented as like we do, we're going to win games.
Oh, the guys have been great, you know, we got we've got we've got quality players. Uh, we were a little banged up early in the year and once we turned that momentum and got it rolling, the guys have just uh, they've taken off and it's been fun. It can't get any better right now. It's been such an amazing summer. It's really crazy and you can start to feel it in June. They called up Puig and now here we are at the end of August and it's still going and hopefully they carry it into the to October.
I prepared a joke for you today to see how I stand up to your comedy. Okay. All right. Considering you're a lefty, did you hear about the guy who lost his whole left side?
I didn't. What happened?
He's all right now. There you go. Very good. Very good.
