The iconic child star that all teenagers and adults recognize across the globe has begun the next step in his career. The actor recognized as the Boy Who Lived, who embodied the life of epic and beloved character Harry Potter, has left Hogwarts behind and is now preparing for the premiere of a new film.
After already making his name well known on Broadway, starring in his first ever show, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Daniel Radcliffe, 22, has put down his wand and is ready to wow us yet again in another dark film titled Woman in Black.
Now that he is all grown up, Radcliffe is starring as young lawyer, Arthur Kipps, who travels to an isolated village to organize a recently deceased client’s papers and estate, where he accidentally uncovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman.
Daniel certainly seems to enjoy these dimly lit stories with ghosts, spiritual beings, and haunted estates; he has stated that he enjoys playing characters who are “slightly disenfranchised,” which is exactly like Arthur, who eventually ostracizes himself from society. Radcliffe also says that he finds dark characters and films more interesting — it is clearly his calling, playing madness very well in this haunted film.
Although this film is not an HP classic that fans have anxiously been waiting for, major Harry Potter fans will be sure to make it their duty to see DanRad in his new "adult" movie. Also, Ciaran Hinds, fellow Harry Potter actor who played Aberforth Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, is playing the role of Mr. Daily, the local townsman that warns Arthur about the Woman in Black.
This spooky film will be released on February 3, 2012, and judging from the trailers (below), none of us will be disappointed; but be careful when viewing this trailer, it will definitely FREAK you out!
