UK Singer Daniela Brooker Poised to Make the Jump to the States

You may not be hearing Daniela Brooker’s songs on your radio right now, but expect to hear the catchy tunes of this up-and-coming pop sensation soon. The native Londoner, at the age of 18, has just been confirmed for the All Fired Up! UK Arena Tour with The Saturdays starting in December. With upbeat songs such as “Summer Love,” “Shake that Body,” and “Turn it Up,” expect her music to soon jump over the Pond to American radio stations.

The singer and songwriter is half-British and half-Venezuelan. She even uses some of her Spanish influence in her songs such as in “Summer Love.” Brooker has been singing her whole life and starting writing songs at the young age of 12. Her first single was written when she was 13 years old. Brooker has said that she is inspired by numerous artists from various genres, including Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, and Gwen Stefani and that she would really like to one day sing with Steven Tyler from Aerosmith

Critics have credited her music with great versatility and range. Although she says her music is mostly pop, some of her tracks are inspired by her love of country music as well. It was a casual conversation with well-known producer Louis Read that helped kick start her professional career. Read has worked with other such acclaimed musicians as Mary J. Blige and Tom Jones, and now he is her manager. Her career really picked up after her song “Turn it Up” was played by The BBC’s Chris Evans Breakfast Show earlier this year. Critics have already likened Brooker to Adele, Christina Aguilera, and the Black Eyed Peas -- not bad company to be in!

Her songs will make you want to get up and start dancing! Check out Brooker’s "Summer Love" below for a taste of her talent:
