The Force Unleashed

Did you know some of your favorite celebs are big gamers? True story.

Hottie Jerry O'Connell from FOX's Do Not Disturb loves Guitar Hero, while the Jonas Brothers recently revealed they love to go online anonymously to play Halo! That's right kids, you never know when you could be blasting Nick with your big gun.

So here's the next big thing getting all the buzz - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

It's kind of like Grand Theft Auto, but in space. You play as Darth Vader's apprentice and get to kick the crap out of everyone and everything around you. The goal is basically to kill everyone. Yes that sounds super-violent. It sort of is, but there's no blood and gore. Plus, it's a killer stress relief.

Game play is actually fairly simple and easy to learn on the fly. With some games, the controls are just too complicated and it makes playing no fun. Not so here. I'm usually the one running his guy into a wall, frustrated and accidentally shooting my allies, so trust me when I say this one is easy to command.

Visually, games are just stunning these days. Force is no exception. The surroundings look amazing, melding high-resolution 2D environments set against painted-looking backdrops. Perhaps the most striking setting is the junk planet, a creepy, sludge like atmosphere with a bunch of floating crap swirling around against a burnt orange sky.

It really doesn't make a difference if you're into the Star Wars franchise or not, the game explains the story and you get cool powers, like blasting lightning bolts, telekinetic choke hold, grabs and throws, plus you get a light saber. Nuff said!

If you're into high-octane, fast-paced action games (or know someone who is), get with the Force.

Word.
