Reality Cares Event Helps Celebs Spread the Word on Their Favorite Charities

With the Emmy Awards come Emmy parties, and Young Hollywood got the chance to hit some of them up!

One that stuck out was the Reality Cares Giving Lounge and Achievement Awards which went down at the Luxe Hotel on the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The Reality Cares Achievement Awards honored Carrie Ann Inaba, Whitney Port, Sophia Bush, and Bertram Van Munster & Elise Doganieri. It was a star-studded event full of up-and-coming actors, actresses, and reality TV stars. The night was topped off with a special performance by pop star, JoJo, who serenaded the crowd with her hit single, "Too Little, Too Late".

The uplifting vibes from the Reality Cares event got us wondering what some of the celebrity attendees favorite charities were... so we found out!

Whitney Port ("The City") - American Cancer Society and FACE Africa

Roxy Olin ("The City") - Brent Shapiro Foundation

Jason Davis - Children's Diabetes Foundation

Briana Evigan (Sorority Row) - Anything that goes on in the Philippines

Aubry Fisher ("LA Ink") - Anything dealing with Parkinson's Disease and breast cancer awareness

Vincent De Paul (handsome guy in virtually every movie and TV show) - March of Dimes; his mother was the national chairperson in the '70s

We loved the concept of connecting celebrities with charity, so we decided to learn more about Reality Cares through an interview with "give back" guru and founder of Reality Cares, Todd Michael Krim.

YH: How would you describe Reality Cares?

TMK: Reality Cares helps celebrities give back by raising money and awareness for other non-profits.

YH: What inspired you to create such a wonderful charity?

TMK: I knew a lot of celebrities that wanted to make a difference but didn't have the time or resources to plan a charity event themselves - that's where Reality Cares comes in. We'll produce the entire event for them from beginning to end.

YH: What are some causes you strongly believe in?

TMK: Anything to do with animals or children. I'm also a big supporter of LGBT equality.

YH: Who are a few of the celebrities Reality Cares has worked with?

TMK: Ryan Seacrest, Maria Menounos, Karina Smirnoff, Jordin Sparks, Sophia Bush...

YH: Reality Cares has been at the Luxe Hotel for two days now; what all has gone down this weekend?

TMK: We've planned 4 back-to-back events: a giving Lounge during the day and then a cancer benefit on Friday night, and our 1st Annual Achievement Awards on Saturday night.

YH: We've heard of gifting lounges before, but how does a "giving lounge" work?

TMK: Every celebrity has to "give back" in order to receive our sponsors' products and services either by making a donation to our charities we have featured there, filming a celebrity PSA, texting to donate, or participating in our online auction.

YH: Who were some of the stars in attendance?

TMK: Whitney Port, Amber Heard, JoJo, Janice Dickinson, Vienna Girardi, Amber Lancaster, Paul Iacono, Kara Taitz, Courtenay Semel, Verne Troyer, Roxy Olin, Phil Keoghan...

YH: Any big plans for Reality Cares in the future?

TMK: You'll just have to wait and see! (smiles)
