What do you get when you mix authentic Mexican food with a dash of margaritas, a sprinkle of ambiance, and a handful of celebs? The perfect recipe for the newest hot spot in the infamous city of "Tinseltown" where the trends change faster than K-Fed changes baby mommas. Our newest addition to food fads: Pink Taco. Its only natural that the hipster Mexican chain would be brought to life by the son of Peter Morton, owner and founder of Morton chains as well as the brains behind the Hard Rock Hotel and Casinos. Harry Morton, 25, opened the first Pink Taco restaurant in Las Vegas in 2000 at his fathers' Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. America then had its second taste of Pink Taco (pun intended) in Scottsdale, Arizona during the summer of 2006 where branching out wasn't as smooth of a process as anticipated. Arizona locals were distraught by the racy restaurant's name and rallied against the franchise. Despite Mayor Mary Manross efforts to oppose the insinuating taco title, the restaurant opening was a huge success and led to the third and most recent ultra chic Mexican chain; our very own, Los Angeles.Needless to say, the grand opening in Century City on June 29th was a star studded event not to be missed. While sipping the signature Pink Taco Margaritas made with one of 400 different types of tequilas on the menu, you may just bump into a celeb also wetting their whistle. Lindsay Lohan, who was rumored to have dated Harry Morton, made an glamorous appearance at the opening; seen sipping a fabulous virgin margarita...offered to those under age or....in rehab. TRAGO known for its oh so yummy and glamorous version of tequila, sponsored the red carpet opening of Pink Taco. Despite the pressumption that the mall setting would detour people from getting their "taco on", the LA opening was a huge success and it will be no time before the Pink Taco takes over another city. After getting past the controversial name that founder Harry Morton dubbed the viral taco joint, its easy to see that Pink Taco is the place for anyone. From the 13 year-old Paris in training, to the CEO's, to the CEO's gardener. So the next time someone asks you if your down for some Pink Taco...you should actually consider.
