NBC to Premiere Pilot of J.J. Abrams's "Revolution" Online 2 Weeks Early!

Hey, who turned out all the lights??!

That’s what about a billion people will be asking in the pilot episode of J.J. Abrams’s new TV epic, “Revolution”, premiering September 17 on NBC. The first episode, directed by Iron Man helmer Jon Favreau, introduces us to a world in which all the electricity in the world inexplicably turns off. It’s a doomsday scenario based off the contemporary question surrounding sustainable energy resources – what WOULD really happen if all forms of power as we know it just… stopped?

We’ve seen plenty of shows on the Discovery Channel and the like tackle this topic from a purely intellectual point of view. But would happens if you throw in a couple billion people in the mix? How would the human race survive? Would the Amish even notice?

The previews of the show do indeed look pretty sweet, with a catastrophic event that sets off the storyline for the series, followed by sweeping scenery of historic landmarks ravaged by Nature in the ensuing 15 years. Giancarlo Esposito, no longer obligated to his “Breaking Bad” duties (ahem), appears as a regular on this show, along with Papa Swan, Billy Burke, and relative newcomer Tracy Spiridakos as Charlie, a young woman who gets her Katniss on by setting out to explore the decaying world outside of her primitive village community.

All sounds pretty great, right? Betcha can’t wait until the premiere on the 17th, right? Well, good news – you don’t have to wait until the 17th! You see, having a distinct advantage over the characters in this show, we have wonderful access to technology and stuff; to that end, you can view the pilot episode of “Revolution” IN FULL tomorrow!!! Just go to NBC.com to check it out, and get psyched for the official premiere in a couple weeks.

In the meantime, watch a trailer for the show below:
