Mims is nothing less than hot and that is a fact. This is Why I'm Hot became every girl and boy's mantra as they grooved through a club, showered in the a.m. or pumped them selves up for a first date. It enabled folks who weren't really narcissistic to sing it boldly in their cars or on the dance floor and his lyrics ring through every Young Hollowoodian in Tinsel town. Mims is originally from Washington Heights, Manhattan where he spent most of his childhood. At the tender age of twelve, his mother bought him a DJ system and that marked his first inclination to pursue music professionally. An unfortunate train of events transpired and he lost both of his parents within a two-year time period. He moved in with his Aunt Ann and grandmother, with whom he became very close. Mims admits after such a horrific loss that it was his love for music (which was instilled by his mother) that kept him on the right path. In 2001, Mims became a Canadian sensation when he made his debut on the lead single, Love Em' All, which can be found on the Private Party Collectors' Edition Vol. 2 of the Baby Blue Soundscrew compilation. As luck would have it he was introduced to DJ Blackout of the Blackout Movement at a friends wedding, which in turn led to successful collaborations with rap star, Method Man. In 2003, he released a song named I Did You Wrong, in 2006 he created his own label, American King Music and in 2007, he recorded This Is Why I'm Hot which led to a plethora of labels vying for his attention. Mims has paved a path for himself in the hip hop culture and it is certain that he is here to stay. Young Hollywood is sure to continue to sing his praises and we like it Like This. Currently Mims is up for Monster Single of the Year and we, here at Young Hollywood agree with his song. Mims is definitely super hot.
