We do know, however, that the more money fans raise, the bigger the prizes get. The top 50 fundraisers will be rewarded with a meet-and-greet session with the band members, as well as a group photo to keep the memory alive. The leading 10 will be lucky enough to receive signed instruments from Linkin Park’s latest European tour, on top of the meet-and-greet. And for that hardworking #1 fundraiser, he or she will be given a VIP on-stage seat from which to watch the entire show (plus all the other treats).
Call it incentive, enticement, motivation, or encouragement -- any way we look at it, Linkin Park has found the key to kicking fundraising into high gear. The campaign, which is part of Music For Relief (the band’s charitable initiative), already has thousands of supporters and hundreds of donors -- the biggest contribution yet has come from Brian P. for $7,000!
All of the proceeds will go directly to Save The Children to benefit victims of the natural disaster. The money will help to provide childcare services, psychological services, safe play zones, and even financial aid to kids who are at-risk of halting their educational pursuits.
Fans only have until August 24 to raise their total sum of money, so check out band members Mike Shinoda and Dave “Phoenix” Farrell in this promo video below. Then head over to the site and start fundraising for Japan!
