Bend It Like Beckham: This is like a chick flick, except for dudes. "ËœBend It' perfectly balances the emotional with on-field action in a story about defying roles often stereotyped in sports, religion and family traditions. The entire cast also has adorable accents, which classes up any film. Fact.
Â
50 First Dates: Believe it or not, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore manage to ditch their generally spoof-tastically comedic character portrayals and deliver heartfelt, honest performances. The premise, a man who falls for a girl who wakes up with no memory of each passing day, presents a clever mix of comedy and emotion.
Win a Date with Tad Hamilton: Sometimes, you just give in to the cheese factor. Girls will fawn over Josh Duhamel while guys can pick up some tips on how to properly treat their partners. Sit up and take some notes, gents! Not to leave anybody out, lesbos and ladyboys (like me) can equally enjoy the story and scenery.
Enchanted: I thought I'd hate this movie in every way. It seemed so childish and silly. Turns out that's exactly what makes it so fun, by making fun of those childish and silly those tales of the princess trying to find her prince! Amy Adams is so gifted and truly carries this movie with a delightful and sonically pleasing performance.
Â
The Matrix: Like "ËœAvatar,' this big-budget action movie delivered on the effects and thoughtful storyline; with a mind-boggling premise, it also drop-kicked people in the soul. Discovering the entire human race has been enslaved by machines will do that. Deep stuff!
