If living a successful and satisfying life is the American Dream, then Gurbaksh Chahal is the embodiment of that dream. Gurbaksh, or G as he is often called, was born in India and moved to the United States at the age of 4. While in high school he enrolled in Accel Middle College in order to get his college degree in conjunction with his high school diploma.At 16 he ended his high school/college education and embarked on his first venture. In 1998, Chahal started the company ClickAgents, an online ad network that focused on advertisers based on performance rather than brand name. His risky venture paid off when two years later he sold the company to ValueClick and became a multi-millionaire at the young age of 18. He worked as an executive at ValueClick, making him the youngest executive at a multi-billion dollar NASDAQ-listed company. In January 2004 he founded his second company, BlueLithium. This new company was made to benefit publishers and marketers, helping them out by using data from 145 million consumers worldwide, heavy analysis and advanced technology in ad targeting. Every year since its debut, the company has been named one of the top 100 private companies in America.On September 4, 2007 Yahoo! Inc., one of the leading Internet companies in the world, announced it was planning to acquire BlueLithium for $300 million in cash. The sale was completed on October 15, 2007. The recent deal to sell the company to Yahoo! Inc. has given Chahal a net worth of over $100 million. In 9 years, Chahal has gone from a high school/college dropout to a 25 year old multi-millionaire. Talk about living the dream!Chahal is not satisfied with stopping there, however. He is currently working on completing his book entitled, appropriately enough, The Dream. He is also working on developing a reality-TV show that will have the same name as his book. Chahal is a prodigy, a successful entrepreneur, and a writer. His story is remarkable and we think it is a prime example of what can be accomplished with a little motivation and ingenuity.
