Goth-Chic: H&M Lauches 'Dragon Tattoo'-Inspired Clothing Line

With the anticipation of the American film adaption of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo due out this December, the late Stieg Larsson’s trilogy of novels is about to hit major franchise status. The movie stars Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, the latter as dark Lisbeth Salander, the lady lead and inspiration for a 30-piece clothing line from H&M.

In true Lisbeth style, the collection will host lots of leather, and lots of dark-colored street fashion. A signature piece is a leather motorcycle jacket available in black or burgundy. It will also include lace-up boots, long cardigans, hoodies, and a bracelet that doubles as a choker.

The film’s costume designer Trish Summerville is tackling the clothing line herself. It seems like a natural progression for her bringing this specific character to life, especially when you take into account all the feisty women she’s styled for in the past such as Pink, Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera, and the bands No Doubt and Black Eyed Peas. There is definitely a specific style in place there that tends to showcase a lady as strong, alluring, and badass.

The collection debuted at Collette in Paris today (November 28) and will launch December 14 at 180 H&M stores as well as online. The movie opens in theaters December 21. Check out the trailer below:
