Surely, a weekly one-hour musical experience is not something everybody might tune in to right away. By now, the buzz has been building and even those not likely to check out a TV series about geeks in a show choir are paying attention. Plus, over the summer, everybody talked about how hot Cory Monteith is. Well played, FOX marketing.
With the fall season upon us, other newbies are standing out, like the revamped Melrose Place - which almighty Amanda {Heather Locklear} is already in talks to return. MP was a 90s cult classic, campy and over the top. The show appreciated what it was and continued a tradition of nighttime soaps like Dynasty and Dallas. Let the bitch slapping and pool tossing commence!
If you missed being Friends with Courteney Cox, she's back in an age-appropriate comedy about a newly single mom trying to get her groove back in Cougar Town. The comedic twist is a play on the title, whereas instead of a "cougar" in her own right, she's a floundering cub trying to paw her way through new territory. Hey, I'll bet your mom would love to watch it with you!
Speaking of sharing the remote, it looks like your boyfriend might replace Lost {which ends next season} with the new sci-fi FlashForward. Natch, Lost has a huge female following - so you might not mind pretending to let him have control over the remote control.
