Frank Dolce may only be a tween, but this precocious young actor conveys the confidence, maturity, not to mention experience, of someone twice his age. He has already conquered the Broadway stage, graced the silver screen with Amy Adams and Meryl Streep in Doubt, and is now joining the ranks of Malcom (in the middle) and Bart Simpson on FOX's new sitcom "Sons of Tucson." "¦All before being eligible for a driver's license. His mid-season sitcom premiered March 14th right after "Family Guy" and is produced by Justin Berfield of "Malcom in the Middle" fame. On the show, Frank plays 11-year-old Gary Gunderson, the leader and middle-child of three brothers left to fend for themselves when their con-man father is sent to jail. Frank's Gary decides to hire a Tuscon deadbeat ("Reaper's" Tyler Labin e) to act as their dad and as the old adage goes "hilarity ensues." While he may be busy with his first television role, Frank took the time to let us know about his fashion sense, the show, and how he got from his hometown of Morristown, New Jersey all the way to Hollywood.
YH: How would you describe your character, Gary Gunderson? F: Gary is organized, smart, a leader, and makes all the decisions. He has a very short fuse.
YH: Do you find you are a lot like Gary? F: I can relate to Gary's organization and leadership.
YH: Gary is the middle of three brothers, what is your family life like at home? F: I have an older sister Alana who is 15.
YH: You were in the Broadway musical Billy Elliot, which is a very dance intensive show, how long have you been studying dance? What got you in to it? Is it still something you are passionate about? F: I originally got into dance because my sister was always at dance classes and I got really into it with musical theatre. All forms of dance interest me! I have been dancing since about four years old. I still continue it because you never know when there is an opportunity to bust a move"¦and of course it's a great way to meet girls.
YH: What would we find you doing on a day off? F: Golfing, skiing, and watching T.V.
YH: What are five things you are in to right now? (movies, tv shows, musicians, books, gadgets, anything) F: I love T.V., anything from Family Guy, Fringe, Glee, and SONS OF TUCSON!!!!! Animation Domination, Lost, but most importantly, SONS OF TUCSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YH: What's your inspiration for your look (suits & fedora hats)? How long have you been dressing this way? F: I just love looking sharp, I couldn't tell you one person specifically. I definitely must watch a lot of T.V. with people in suits and stuff, but I don't model it off of one person. I'm very different at home, like right now I'm wearing sweat pants and a nice shirt. I try to be comfortable when I can.
Tune in to FOX Sunday nights at 9:30/8:30c to watch Frank in all-new episodes of "Sons of Tucson."
