Although he started as a quarterback and wide receiver for Maine Central Institute, NBA was clearly his calling. Cuttino Mobley hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is also known as The Cat.ù Cuttino now lives in La La Land where he plays for the Los Angeles Clippers. Before the NBA, Cuttino played basketball at the University of Rhode Island where he helped lead the Rams to an Elite Eight appearance in the 1998 NCAA Men's Division 1 Basketball Tournament. He started off his NBA career as the 41st overall pick for the Houston Rockets where he played for six seasons before moving to the Orlando Magic. After 23 games with the Magic, he moved his way out West to play for the Sacramento Kings. In 2005, he signed a five-year $42 million deal with the Clippers. The 6'4ù guard, along with Sam Cassell and Elton Brand led the Clippers to the 2006 NBA playoffs.Two of his family members are no strangers to the professional sports world. His half-brother, Daniel Smith, was a wide receiver for the National Football League's Carolina Panthers. He is also the cousin of the former NFL linebacker John Mobley.Aside from a successful basketball career, one of his most impressive feats would be that he established Cat's Cornerù which is a program to give underprivileged children tickets to Rockets games.Cuttino says he is enjoying L.A. weather and fans and says it has become a home away from home for him.
