Conspiracies, Alien Encounters and UFO Sightings with Tom DeLonge

Tom DeLonge made a name for himself at a very young age. After graduating from high school in 1992 he collaborated with a couple of his friends and classmates to create a band called Blink. They released demos in 1993 and created their first album, Cheshire Cat, with record label Cargo Music. But in 1994, they were threatened by legal action from a band in Europe with the same name, so to avoid argument, they added a "182" at the end, which has no apparent significance (other than avoiding litigation).

In 2002, DeLonge and one of his bandmates, Travis Barker, took a brief hiatus to work on a new band, Box Car Racer; they disbanded a year later when DeLonge and Barker decided to go back and focus on Blink 182. They released five successful studio albums, but in 2005, tensions between the band members led them to announce an “indefinite hiatus.” During this hiatus, DeLonge created a new band, Angels and Airwaves, which produced three studio albums and released a full length film titled Love, which was released at the Santa Barbara International Music Festival. In 2008, Travis Barker survived a plane crash that killed four of the six people on board. Blink 182 decided to reunite in 2010; DeLonge said the crash was “fate” and was what brought them back to together. Their sixth studio album, Neighborhoods, is set to be released on September 27, 2011.

DeLonge has branched out to a whole new project called Strange Times -- No this is not a new band, a song, nor a movie; it’s a Website. Strange Times is a site dedicated to tracking UFOs, alien encounters and conspiracies. For instance, April 15, 1912, the RMS Titanic sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,500 people. According to the conspiracy, Titanic did not sink that day; it was actually her sister ship, Olympic, disguised as Titanic. The site also includes top news stories of the days, many of them controversial: a 9/11-themed coloring book was recently released in which children can color in Osama Bin Laden being shot by the Navy Seals. A recent article was titled “Lawless America: 20 Examples of Desperate People Doing Desperate Things", which talks about the economic downfall of our country and how it is making people go crazy and kill their family members. It’s Strange Times people, Strange Times...

Check out Strange Times here and let us know what you think!
