Newly-signed and ready to rock, Cold War Kids are here for your aural pleasure. With their unique rock sound sprinkled with blues and soul, story-telling lyrical genius, and tunes so fresh and catchy, each song on it's own is enough to merit buying the entire album, Robbers & Cowards". Frontman Nathan Willett utilizes his versatile vocal range as he effortlessly reaches the falsetto, high-tenor sound resembling Jack White and Jeff Buckley. Lyrically, CWK bring to mind Bob Dylan. In contrast to what the California-residing foursome's name suggests, the Kids don't focus so much on the political as they do on narrating the stories they tell and painting a detailed picture of the characters inhabiting them. These stories range from tales about a death-row inmate locked up for the death of his sister's rapist in Saint Johnto a lush and his family in We Used to Vacationto stealing from a church collection in Passing the Hat.Hang Me Up To Dryis an instant favorite and sure to become an iPod staple. Go to www.myspace.com/coldwarkids and you'll be waiting on edge for their next album. Aram Fatoure
