Hi everyone, I know it's been awhile since my last entry, but things have been a little crazy lately. So much going on, so this one might be a little long, but worth the read.
January and February were filled with DJing gigs. I hit Primal in Atlanta, Floyd's in Tampa, Skky Bar in Oklahoma City, Hollywood Million Denim's launch party at The Ivy Hotel in San Diego and The House of Hype at Sundance.
While at Sundance I was able to catch the screenings of some amazing films: The Runaways, Skateland and My Blue Valentine, which features one of my dear friends Mike Vogel who happens to be one of my co-stars in Heavens Rain, a new film I'm working on. More details on that, next week.
While at the House of Hype, I was able to stop by their amazing gifting suite. Check out some of the suite's products in the photo below.
Some of my favorites are the Samsung Mythic phone and Votre Vu skincare products. One item that isn't pictured that I adore is my new amazing high fashion Sean John Outerwear jacket I received. I know, I know"¦in all honesty the Sean John line isn't really my style, but this new jacket from the 2010 line is sic.
In the midst of all my DJing gigs, Boomkat released the fourth and final single from our album, A Million Trillion Stars called "Lonely Child," which is one of my favorites. The video was directed by Justin Coloma (Smashing Pumpkins, Linda Strawberry, Eagles of Death Metal) and produced by Megan Duffy (Smashing Pumpkins, Matthew Wilder).
Our biggest inspiration for writing this song was our dad who is no longer with us. If it weren't for him, my brother Kellin and I would not be the artists we are today. His sudden and untimely death broke our hearts in pieces, but ultimately fueled our own creative passions. In this video you will see photos of him superimposed on a frame that Kellin and I are holding. It's our way of paying him love n respect for passing down the musical talent that we hold dear to this day.
The video was featured on the homepage of MySpace.com and the single is available for purchase on iTunes. Check out the video below.
Lastly, incase you haven't heard yet"¦.I've landed a spot on CBS' remake of "Hawaii Five-O"! More details next week"¦.
Xo,
Taryn
