Can Kanye Conquer the Catwalk?

In the last couple of years, rumors have circulated about a possible high-end Kanye West fashion label. Well, those rumors have proven to be true!

The world has known Kanye to be very fashionable himself, always sporting the latest and most unique men’s looks. And last week at Paris Fashion Week, he debuted his very own women’s fashion 2012 Spring/Summer collection to a room full of fashion elites. The line has a very meaningful name to the rap star -- Dw, in memory of his mother, Donda West.

 

 

West appeared to be nervous about the presentation of his fashion line and asked the critics to “go easy on” his first design efforts. During his fashion show, celebrities, supermodels, and designers studded the room, such as Lindsay Lohan, Ciara, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Karlie Kloss, Chanel Iman, Bar Refaeli, Anna Wintour, Jeremy Scott, and Jared Leto.

 

 

Kanye has always had a knack for fashion, working as an intern at Fendi, launching a collection of scarves, and designed shoes for Louis Vuitton that sold out in two weeks. He has stated that he poured his heart, soul, and a whole lot of money into his debut collection, and that only big things are to come in the future for him and his fashion empire.

 

 

Although the critics have decided not to listen to the rapper's requests of going easy on him, Kanye is trying to keep his head up and is still preparing to shock the fashion world with some more beautiful pieces. Hopefully, they will give him a chance to grow into the designer that he wants to be.
