Is it Brittany Murphy's seductive sensual voice that catches your attention? Or is it the diversity in her choice of roles, her enthusiasm that is caught so genuinely on film or her spunkiness that gives you a sense that she could be your best friend that makes this Southern gal the apple of your eye? Brittany Murphy was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Angelo Bertolotti and Sharon Murphy on November 10, 1977. Shortly after her birth, her parents divorced and her mother moved to Edison, New Jersey where she raised Brittany by herself. As a toddler, Brittany had a precocious nature and she often expressed herself by putting on small shows to entertain others around her. There was no question that the youngster was a born entertainer. Brittany soon discovered regional theatre and appeared in productions of Les Miserable and Really Rosie, where she received glorious reviews in local papers. In her early teens, she took her career so seriously that she hired a manager and soon after moved to Burbank, California to flourish into the incredible talent that she is today. At the age of 13, she landed her first television role on the sitcom, Blossom. Soon after, she was cast in FOX network's disposable series, Drexell's Class followed by her debut in the dysfunctional family drama, Family Prayers. After her performances in a slew of short-run TV episodes, Brittany finally landed a role in the 1995 hit, Clueless, starring Alicia Silverstone and Stacey Dash. Following her clueless-ness,รน she ventured on to perform in a handful of lesser-know films where she continued to challenge herself by playing a variety of different characters such as Diliverance Bodine in Drive (1997), and Emily Nicholson in Falling Sky (1998). However, just because this Southern girl took a break from blockbusters for a couple of years, certainly did not mean she wouldn't gracefully return. In 1999, Brittany starred in Drop Dead Gorgeous with Denise Richards, The Devil's Arithmetic (a dark Holocaust drama) and Girl, Interrupted, alongside Winona Rider. Murphy won particular acclaim for her compelling performance in Girl, Interrupted where she portrayed an emotionally damaged patient in a mental facility. Since 2000, Brittany has worked steadily capturing our hearts and dancing in our imagination with her spunky demeanor and alluring voice. She starred as Eminem's love interest in 8 Mile, where she was a bit promiscuous and made us giggle incessantly in both romantic comedies, Just Married and Little Black Book. Many may not know that she is the voice of King of the Hill's Luanne, and will be the new voice of Tinker Bell. Look forward to seeing her strut her stuff in The Ramen Girl and The Other Side due out in 2007, as well as the sequel to Sin City in 2008. She may have had her start on Blossom, but this little Southern peach has grown into a skilled thespian who has mastered the art of theatre and the silver screen.
