Women often find themselves having to dress up and beautify themselves for social events and, in a lot of cases, they have to upgrade their wardrobe for the workplace as well. But, when it comes to running errands, relaxing at home or just having fun with family and friends, we look for something streamlined, flattering to our bodies, casual and above all, comfortable. No one knows how to design for a woman's needs better than another woman, and Kara Lusardi is doing just that with her Los Angeles based clothing line, Bobi. Kara Lusardi started out in the fashion industry 15 years ago. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and began designing children's clothing soon after. In 2005, she moved to Los Angeles, where she decided to do her own special take on t-shirts, one of the key items to any woman's casual wardrobe. She noticed that many of the high end boutiques were charging astronomical prices for casual t-shirts and decided to get back to the basics and, even better, charge women a reasonable price. Bobi is made up of two main components, comfortable fabric and material that accentuates the parts of a woman that we want to play up and downplays those areas of the body we don't want to be noticed. The whole line consists of dresses, long or short sleeve tops, tanks, tees and outerwear, such as cardigans. The tops and dresses are simple and allow for a woman to add her own personal touch. For example, a top from Bobi can be worn as a tunic and a dress can go from casual to chic just by belting or unbelting it. The clothing is versatile enough to wear it day or night, and what woman doesn't like that?! Bobi was introduced in May, 2006, and it has become all the rage with fashion forward, trendsetting celebrities like Nicole Richie, Miley Cyrus, Rumer Willis, Sophia Bush, Giuliana DePandi and Sophie Monk. The bobi collection is currently available at Kitson, Fred Segal Los Angeles, Big Drop and Atrium NYC. You can also get it online at www.revolveclothing.com.
