Being Green

Being Greenù may have been a popular song in 1970 performed by none other than the Kermitù himself, however today it's a phrase that has infiltrated into our pop culture and is here to stay.

Being Greenù is not considered a passing phase or trend like Ugg boots or Jennifer Anniston's hairstyle, it IS a way of life. We here at Young Hollywood find it of extreme importance and firmly advocate reducing our carbon footprint on the world.

Well-known celebrities are voicing their opinions on global warning in a variety of ways, whether it is on film or television.

For instance, Leonard DiCaprio recently joined forces with dynamic-sister duo, Nadia and Leila Conners and together they createdThe 11th Hourù, an astounding documentary that investigates the condition of the global environment and proposes possible solutions for improving our planet's ecosystems.

Another outspoken celebrity, Adrian Grenier has delved into the green-heart of the matter. He built himself an eco-friendly home, has intimate candle-lit dinners with friends and family to celebrate Earth Day and actively spreads the word about his passion. Mr. Grenier is now taking on the challenge of creating an environmentally-friendly TV series that will help single home families green their living spaces. Kudos to both Adrian and Leonardo living and leading by example, what a noble idea! Folks, pay attention!

Young Hollywood just covered an event for BPM s Green 11th Anniversary Party that was sponsored by Ford Escape Hybrid and Sapporo Breweries where celebrities in attendance included Paris Hilton and Nicole Scherzinger. BPM is a magazine full of original content that is ahead of the mainstream; they incorporate engaging, fresh coverage on fashion, art, DJ culture and indie/electronic music. Therefore, it only makes sense to see BPM Magazine advocate green-nessù especially since they pride themselves in delivering cutting edge information that is relevant but also essential for metropolitan trend setters.

Whether you're a celebrity, teacher, brain surgeon, or firefighter, you can contribute every day to saving our universe. It's hip to be green...Kermit says so.
