ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Ed Sheeran

It seems like the British are everywhere in the music industry nowadays, and we’re definitely not complaining!

Ed Sheeran, singer-songwriter extraordinaire from across the Pond, is just one in the recent string of British imports to hit our sound waves here in the States over the past year, and we are really digging all that he has to offer us.

He has written songs for the likes of our absolute fave boy band, One Direction, and has even collaborated with none other than Taylor Swift for a track on her newest hit album Red. (He is also the opening act for her upcoming tour!)

With his mellow, laidback lyrics about everything from love, birth, and loss, who wouldn’t want to collaborate with the likes of Sheeran?

What really gets us to absolutely love this big ginger teddy bear is, quite simply, his lyrics. If there is one man on Earth who has the power to make someone fall in love with simply his words, it is, in fact, Ed Sheeran. He's like a modern-day Cyrano.

One of our favorite songs of his, “Give Me Love”, coos: “All I want is the taste that your lips allow / My, my, oh give me love.”

Another one that always has us singing along whenever we hear it in the car or on our iPods is a little number called "Firely", which goes “Lie with me, sew your heart on my sleeve / We’ll stay quiet underneath shooting stars if it helps you sleep.”

Come on, how can you NOT love lyric lines like that?

Well, we can’t wait to hear what the future has in store for our favorite red-headed crooner, and with the string of successes he’s had lately, the future is looking oh-so bright.
