Adrian Grenier Encourages Social Change Through AOK.tv

The Do Something Awards, which took place this past Sunday (August 16) and air on TV this Thursday (August 18) are certainly a step in this direction. Also contributing to the cause is AOK.tv, an interactive website that marries humanitarian efforts with social networking. You know all those “please post this as your status” updates you see on Facebook all the time, advocating some sort of call to action or social awareness? AOK (or, Acts and Observations of Kindness) runs on that platform. It’s an entire virtual world based in positivity (kind of like YH!).

Everyone has something to say. AOK.tv is the podium from which we can say stuff that really matters. Studies have shown that large concentrations of positive energy DO have the power to effect change in the environment (the opposite is true too, so watch your thoughts and words!). Imagine what might happen if we all collectively decided to spend one day doing good deeds and thinking good thoughts! That’s what AOK.tv hopes to achieve. Every little bit helps, right?

Rest assured that Hollywood is starting to throw its weight behind the site too – in fact, “Entourage” star Adrian Grenier is major player behind it, lending his clout and online presence through SHFT.com to make AOK.tv possible. No doubt other major Hollywood players will soon be taking notice and getting involved.

And YOU can get involved today! Check out AOK.tv and get your good deed on!
