I'm pleased to make my first guest blog appearance on YH and announce that Maroon 5 is kidnapping me. It all started when I was a little girl singing for customers in my parents gas station in Alaska. I grew up and moved to L.A. and before I knew it I was making a record. Along the way I became friends with M5. So there I was having lunch with my girlfriend when they called to say I was coming on their " Back-To-School" tour whether I liked it or not. You see I am a singer/songwriter piano/guitar player & artist on Universal Republic Records and it just so happens that my major label debut titled " Kate Earl" hits stores on Nov 3rd. That night I will open for the fellas at a college in Louisville, Kentucky followed by a show in Rochester, New York. I will be on a tour bus with rockstars. No way. Charmed life I tell you. Or hard work? Timing? Who knows.
I’m really excited to add “Contributing YH Editor” to my expanding resume. :) This means you’ll have to keep coming back to visit my blog with each entry as I promise to have some interesting and fun things to share.
With that in mind and for those that know me from my acting resume, I am a bit of a multi-tasker as I’m also in a band with my brother Kellin called Boomkat. Our sophomore album, A Million Trillion Stars is out now! A track from the album “Burn” was on MTV’s The City last Thursday night, which I am extremely excited about. Also, our track “Run Boy” was recently featured on The CW’s Melrose Place as well as my first solo single, “So Talented” and ME! I was a bit of a hustler with my gun, but gotta love a strong woman! :) Watch out!!
Kristine Elezaj is hot on the scene! She’s busting out with Souvenirs, a sassy single {take a listen on her mySpace music page} that has her busting into the bubble of the pop music world.
She’s sexy, young and fun, and she’s been working for this moment her whole life!
“I started performing and doing theater when I was 6,” she tells me. “My 1st grade teacher got me into the drama program when I was in school and I feel in love with being on stage! From then on I was always singing and dancing.”
Art collectors, Beatles enthusiasts or the like can now own a rare piece of music history in a one of a kind collection of original Beatles artwork by the great modern artist Jim Dine. These works were originally commissioned by Capitol Records for a Beatles album which was never made due to the band leaving the label and forming Apple Records. The untitled pieces - 5 in all - will be auctioned off on Tuesday, November 17, at Bonhams and Butterfields. Each comes signed and dated 'Jim Dine 1968' and would be a fine addition to any collection. Learn more about the pieces by clicking here.
Taylor Swift’s Flower Power!
It’s not easy being a teen, especially when dealing with hormonal skin. Here’s how young Hollywood hotties like Taylor Swift keep their complexion in check:
First off, we know Taylor specifically uses Kinerase products, revealed as part of her flawless skin secrets.
Taylor also has a pocket-sized secret beauty weapon: Benefit Bad Gal Lash. This is said to be one of the country cuties “must have” beauty essentials!
Celeb inspired Halloween costumes like that loveable train wreck Amy Winehouse and Sarah Palin are always a crowd favorite!
All Sarah needs are frameless glasses, an updo, above the knee skirt with matching jacket and pumps. Say "maverick" a lot. Pile a bunch of hair on top of your head and carry around a whiskey bottle to channel Amy.
Dying for more? Here are even more famously-inspired costume ideas for a star-studded Halloween!
People love a good scare. Roller coasters, even surprise parties. The rush is fun as long as it’s not an actual life-shattering dramatic moment. Those aren’t usually fun, but very jolting nonetheless.
A good scare gets the blood pumping, snaps the mind to high alert and administers an adrenaline high that’s worth an early grey hair or two.
In the theater setting, it’s also a good time to latch on to your date. They think they’re protecting you, allowing you to fawn over how good they smell.
Ever wonder what Sal Masekela does when he’s not hosting Daily 10 or chatting up celebs on the red carpet? Probably training for the ING NY Marathon he’ll be participating in on Nov. 1 to raise funds for his foundation, Stoked Mentoring, a nonprofit action sports organization for at risk youth. Diddy was the first of many to pledge a generous donation to the foundation if Sal beat his original time in the marathon after Sal put him up to the challenge via Twitter. Celebs like Rob Dyrdek and Justin Timberlake, and corporations like DFDTV.com, Ad.ly, Asics and Tanqueray have taken Diddy’s lead and jumped on board to sponsor Sal. With all these donations at stake, the heat is on the smiley TV star to haul ass! Run, Sal, Run!!!Check out this video courtesy of UX Entertainment of Sal before his last major training run.
