Zoe Saldana's new film reminds her of losing her dad
Actress Zoe Saldana had to fight back tears the first time she saw her moving new family drama Infinitely Polar Bear, because it reminded her of losing her father at the age of nine.
The Star Trek beauty stars as the mother of two girls whose father, played by Mark Ruffalo, is battling bipolar disorder and struggling to connect with his daughters.
Saldana reveals the emotionally-charged storyline prompted her to
think about her own dad, who died in a car accident when she was a
kid.
She tells The Huffington Post, "I saw it (the film) for the first
time two months ago. My sister and my assistant and some family
members were with me and we went afterwards to dinner and
everybody's lower lip was just trembling because we were so moved.
Especially for my sisters and me, because we lost our father when
we were very young. It hits home. You feel that you were
wronged."
