Zachary Levi turns server for charity

Zachary Levi stunned customers at a California fast food restaurant recently when he joined the servers behind the drive-through counter to raise money for charity.

The Chuck star decided to boost funds for Operation Smile, a children's organization which aims to treat kids with facial deformities, by stepping behind the tills at chicken eatery Chick-Fil-A.

He filmed the experience for his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday (13Oct11), explaining, "Chick-Fil-A finally made it to Southern California and they do this really cool thing where celebrities can work the drive-through and 20 per cent of all sales go to the charity of your choice at that time and so that's really cool. I'm involved in a charity called Operation Smile and then we got to have a little fun while we were there."

Only a few of the customers recognized Zachary Levi, and he even convinced one female fan to donate extra money to the cause by jokingly selling unusual pieces of jewelry.

He told the woman, "I'm trying to scrap together a little extra for charity. I've been making this authentic chicken jewelry... Chick-Fil-A chicken bone jewelry..."
