Vanessa Hudgens is Broadway bound in Gigi

Former High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens' Broadway dreams have been realised - her hit new stage show Gigi is heading to New York.

The big theatre news was announced on Wednesday (14Jan15) and the actress took to Instagram to celebrate with fans.

She wrote, "Omg (oh my God) I can't believe it!!!!!! It's official, after DC I'm going to be making my Broadway debut with @gigionbroadway. Feeling so blessed, grateful and extremely excited!!!!!"

The revival of the play, about a simple Parisian girl who is trained to be a courtesan, will begin performances in March (15) at the Neil Simon Theater. Opening night is set for 8 April (15).

Meanwhile, Hudgens and her castmates will stage the show at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. from Friday (16Jan15).
