British rapper Tinie Tempah fears DJs and star producers are destroying the chances of fledgling singers breaking into the big time.
The Written in the Stars hitmaker is concerned that studio beatmakers are now considered the "new rock stars" while talented singers are left on the sidelines.
He tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "The charts are so producer-driven these days. Even though there's a vocal on the song, it's all about the beat and who made it. Producers are the new rock stars but they aren't the artists. It's killing the opportunity for any real solid artists to have well-rounded careers."
