Tinie Tempah eyeing Mercury Prize glory

Written by . Published: September 06 2011

Tinie Tempah is confident he'll take home the prestigious Mercury Prize on Tuesday (06Sep11), because his breakthrough album has "something for everybody".

The Pass Out hitmaker is battling it out with favourites PJ Harvey, James Blake, and Adele for the 2011 honor, which is bestowed upon the most influential British album of the previous 12 months.

His debut record, Disc-Overy, is on the shortlist for the award, with the winner set to be announced at a ceremony in London on Tuesday - and he's tipping himself for victory.

The rapper tells U.K. radio station Capital FM, "The album was like a taste platter. There's something on there for everybody. There's something for the trendy hipster kids, those influential in blog culture, people who want dance tunes or big pop radio hooks."
