The Expendables star Terry Crews has signed up to replace funnyman Cedric The Entertainer as the host of gameshow Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

The former football star-turned-movie tough guy will begin his tenure on the hit show later this year (14), when the program kicks off its 13th season.

Announcing the news on Wednesday (07May14), Crews says, "I'm beyond thrilled to be joining Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and the Disney-ABC family. Millionaire is such a beloved franchise and I can't wait to get started as the new host.

"Hosting has always been a dream of mine, and I couldn't have asked for a greater opportunity."

TV personality Meredith Vieira launched the weekday version of Millionaire in 2002 and Cedric the Entertainer took over last year (13). Last month (Apr14), he announced he would be leaving the show after just one season, because of his busy schedule.
